Chapter 560 Conflict

"No, I can't possibly stay at your house," Catherine firmly refused.

Susan knew Catherine wouldn't agree, so she said, "Then I'll stay here with Mary, Kathy, Spring, and Hayden for a few days until Dorothy returns. How about that?"

Hearing this, Catherine, though afraid of causing trouble, nodded reluctantly. After all, she was truly scared.

"Alright." she agreed softly.

Seeing Catherine nod, Susan said, "Once the cleaner finishes tidying up outside, I'll have Mary and Kathy bring the kids over."

"Susan, I'm causing you trouble again," Catherine said suddenly, feeling very guilty.

Susan frowned and said, "Mom, please don't apologize. I've put you in difficult situations before. You are my mom; we've been through tough times together. Just focus on getting better. We'll get through this, and then you and Todd can finally be happy."

"Yes," Catherine shed a few tears.

That night, Susan, Mary, Kathy, Spring, and Hayden all moved into Dorothy's house.

With so many people around, Catherine's spirits lifted significantly, and Susan felt relieved.

Susan originally thought that after this incident, Carol would be satisfied and wouldn't cause any more trouble. But she was wrong.

That noon, Catherine went out to buy something and was threatened again. She was pushed to the ground, resulting in a fractured arm.

Susan received the news and quickly took Catherine to the hospital to get a cast, then brought her back home.

Seeing Catherine's fearful demeanor, Susan advised her not to go out for the time being. With Mary and Kathy at home, Susan felt somewhat reassured, thinking that Carol wouldn't do anything illegal.

But this wasn't a long-term solution, so Susan went directly to Rylee's house that afternoon to have a clear conversation with Carol.

Rylee's villa was beautiful. Susan revealed her identity, and the servant politely led her inside.

Entering the living room, Susan saw Rylee sitting on the sofa. Rylee didn't even stand up but glanced at her arrogantly and said, "Susan, you must have a reason for gracing us with your presence today."

Before discovering the relationship between Catherine and Todd, Rylee had been polite and respectful to her. This sudden change in attitude was something Susan wasn't used to.

Susan didn't answer Rylee's question but looked around and said, "I'm here to see Mom."

Rylee sneered and said, "Why are you looking for your mom at my house? She should be with my dad now, right? Even at her age, she still manages to wrap men around her little finger. I wonder what her secret is."

Hearing these harsh words, Susan coldly replied, "Rylee, I'm here to see your mom. What my mom did was wrong, but you're still the younger generation. Please don't speak so harshly about her. And as your sister-in-law, you should at least greet me, right?"

Rylee suddenly stood up, furious, and said, "Your mom did such shameless things, and you still have the nerve to call her my elder and ask me to give her face? You are truly shameless! You, my sister-in-law? I used to respect you, told you all my secrets, and you used them to hurt me. Susan, you're a vicious woman. Seb really misjudged you. My mom asked him to divorce you, but he refused. Because of you, Seb even gave up half of Prosperity Group's shares. I really feel sorry for him!"

Hearing this, Susan stared at Rylee in disbelief. After a long pause, she finally came to her senses and said, "Mom changed her will because Seb refused to divorce me?"

Susan felt very guilty at this moment. She had been blaming Seb in her heart, complaining that he didn't care about her and the kids, and went abroad without a word.

It turned out that Carol had asked him to divorce her, but he refused. He was willing to lose half of Prosperity Group's shares to stay with her. Considering that Carol's shares in Prosperity Group were worth billions, it was clear how much she meant to him. He truly cared about her.

Thinking of this, Susan felt incredibly comforted and even smiled slightly.

"Yes, so you're nothing but a troublemaker!" Rylee cursed.

Susan knew Rylee was a simple but willful person who dared to love and hate. She was younger than Susan, so Susan didn't hold it against her.

The next moment, Susan turned to walk inside. "I'm here to see Mom. I don't want to argue with you."

Susan's attitude further enraged Rylee. She stepped forward to block Susan's way.

"This is my house. You have no right to barge in. Besides, you and your mom made my mom sick. She won't see you. You should leave now!" After saying this, Rylee gestured to the servant to help her see Susan out.

At this point, the servant stepped forward, very politely but firmly, and said, "Please leave."

Susan couldn't leave easily. She had to speak clearly with Carol today.

So, she stepped forward to force her way in.

Seeing this, Rylee got into a physical altercation with Susan.

Susan didn't want to have physical contact with her, but Rylee was very aggressive and pushed Susan hard.

Susan frowned. She had to see Carol today. Otherwise, who knew what Carol would do to Catherine? Catherine was in a bad emotional state and very tense. After all, Catherine was already in her fifties, and Susan worried that she might not be able to handle it and something might happen to her.

So, Susan didn't give up and continued towards Carol's bedroom.

At this moment, Rylee frowned and raised her hand to slap Susan in the face!

A crisp slap echoed in the air.

Susan covered her face, looking at Rylee in disbelief. "Rylee, I'm still your sister-in-law!"

Rylee coldly replied, "I don't have a shameless sister-in-law like you!"

"I..." Susan was about to say something.

The door to Carol's bedroom suddenly opened.

Carol walked out of the bedroom.

Seeing Carol, Susan didn't want to argue with Rylee. She hadn't forgotten her purpose for coming today.

"Mom," Susan called out.

After all, this time, she and Catherine were indeed in the wrong.

Carol glanced sharply at Susan and noticed the five-finger mark on her face.
