Chapter 115 A Narrow Encounter

Seeing Susan, Amelia was also a bit surprised.

Susan, feeling down, tried to avoid trouble and headed back to her office, ignoring Amelia.

But Amelia blocked her way. "We know each other, why are you running? Afraid of me?" she taunted.

Susan glared back. "When you see a dog, you avoid it not because you're scared, but because it might bite."

"Who are you calling a dog?" Amelia snapped.

"Whoever barks," Susan shot back coldly.

"You're asking for it!"

Amelia raised her hand to slap Susan, but Susan quickly grabbed her wrist. "If you're here to sell insurance, there's no business for you. Leave now," she warned, shoving Amelia away.

Just then, Maria came out with a document. "Miss Wilson, I need your signature."

Susan signed the document, glancing at Amelia.

Amelia laughed loudly. "Susan, working at George and Vivian Law Firm now  a supervisor? Supervising what—seducing the boss?"

Her loud comment drew attention from the office. Susan, trying to keep her cool, asked, "Are you leaving or do I need to call security?"

Amelia shouted, "Do you know your supervisor's past? She seduced Mr. Anderson at Prosperity Group, got pregnant, and now she's here. Did she seduce the boss here too?"

The office buzzed with whispers. Susan, fed up, grabbed Amelia's hair. "Stop nonsense or you'll regret it!"

Amelia fought back, grabbing Susan's hair. "No one's here to help you today. I'll beat you senseless!"

They started fighting, ignoring their surroundings. Susan, embarrassed and out of her element, began to lose ground to Amelia.

Amelia took the chance to slap Susan hard and pinned her against the wall. "You think you can compete with me? The higher you fly, the harder you fall," she spat.

Amelia was still jealous that Susan had won over Seb, despite all her efforts.

"Hmph, I think you don't even have the chance to fly," Susan sneered.

"What did you say?" Amelia fumed.

"I don't repeat myself," Susan glared back.

Amelia, enraged, raised her hand to slap Susan again, but a figure quickly grabbed her wrist.

Susan looked up to see George by her side. He pushed Amelia, causing her to fall.

"Ouch!" Amelia cried out.

"Are you okay?" George asked, worried, seeing Susan's bleeding mouth.

"I'm fine," Susan said, noticing her torn collar.

"Who are you? How dare you hit a woman?" Amelia pointed at George.

George, unfazed, replied, "This is a law firm, not a place for troublemakers. Who are you?"

Amelia, eyeing George's sharp look, said, "You must be the boss here, right?"

"Yes, I am. And I can sue you for causing trouble," George said.

Amelia mocked, "You're biased towards your employee. Have you two been sleeping together? Susan loves seducing bosses..."

Before she could finish, George slapped her twice. The sound echoed, leaving everyone stunned.

George had crossed a line. As a top lawyer in Maple Valley, hitting someone publicly could damage his reputation.

Susan quickly pulled George back. "What are you doing?"

George whispered, "I'm standing up for you."

Amelia, still reeling, threatened, "I'll call the police!"

George sneered, "Go ahead. I have a dozen lawyers here who can handle it, and I don't even have to pay."

"Do lawyers think they're above the law?" Amelia argued, but her tone was weaker.
