Chapter 963 Expressing One's Feelings Clearly
Isabella kept her mouth shut and focused on her food.
Kathy could tell Isabella was upset, so she didn't say a word.
That afternoon, Isabella took a nap.
Even while napping, Isabella always kept an ear out for any sounds from the next room.
By four in the afternoon, it was still quiet next door, meaning Leon hadn't come back yet. Isabella frowned, thinking, 'Out all day, what's he up to?'
She glanced at the clock on the wall; it was almost four. Alfonso was supposed to take her for a walk, so she changed into a black and white maternity dress and headed downstairs.
Just as she reached the bottom, Leon walked in from the foyer, followed by two people carrying a bunch of stuff.
Seeing Leon and the two helpers, Isabella noticed the items they were carrying and couldn't help but frown.
It looked like he'd been shopping and had even brought a baby crib into the living room, along with a bunch of baby gear.
Leon walked over with a smile. "I got a crib for our baby. Do you like it?"
Isabella looked at the crib. It was made of natural wood, with light blue sheets and bedding covered in cute little bears.
Even though the crib was beautiful, Isabella kept a stern face and said, "I can buy the crib myself. You don't need to worry about it!"
Leon didn't get mad. He just turned and started directing the delivery workers on where to put everything.
Isabella glanced out the window and saw Alfonso already standing outside the wrought iron gate.
He waved at her, and she quickly waved back before heading outside.
Leon saw Alfonso and stepped in front of Isabella. "Where are you going?"
"For a walk," Isabella said, lifting her chin.
Leon frowned. "I can go with you."
Isabella sneered. "Sorry, you ruin my mood. I'd rather have Alfonso with me; it's more relaxing."
With that, she walked out.
As she left the villa, Alfonso greeted her with a smile. "Sorry, I'm five minutes late. I had to take a call."
Isabella smiled back. "It's just a walk. Don't let it mess with your important stuff."
Alfonso replied, "Walking with you is my important stuff."
Isabella smiled, and Alfonso supported her as they walked along the roadside to the park.
Leon stood by the wrought iron gate, frowning deeply, his eyes burning with anger.
At the park, Alfonso noticed Isabella seemed a bit out of breath. "How about we sit down and rest for a bit?"
"Sure," Isabella nodded.
They sat on a bench, and Alfonso pulled out a pink thermos from his jacket pocket, handing it to Isabella. "Have some water."
"Thanks," Isabella smiled, taking the cup and sipping slowly.
The pink thermos was something Alfonso had specially prepared for her, just in case she got thirsty during their walks. It was her personal cup, and every time they went for a walk, Alfonso made sure to have it ready in his pocket.
These days, Isabella couldn't help but feel uneasy about Alfonso's meticulous care.
She'd been trying to find the right moment to tell Alfonso he didn't need to walk with her every day. She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt like Alfonso still had feelings for her.
Out of nowhere, Isabella and Alfonso started talking at the same time and then laughed, realizing it.
"You go first," Alfonso said with a polite smile.
"No, you go ahead," Isabella replied.
Truth be told, Isabella hadn't figured out how to start the conversation without hurting Alfonso's feelings.
Alfonso didn't hesitate. He looked at the trees ahead, paused for a moment, and then asked, "Isabella, what are your plans for the future?"
Isabella frowned and said, "Just taking it one day at a time. I'll have the baby and raise it."
Alfonso suddenly turned to her and said, "Facing all these challenges alone with a kid is too hard and stressful. Haven't you thought about finding someone to share the burden with?"
Isabella laughed. "Alfonso, the kid's father should have shared the burden with me. Since he doesn't want to, I have to handle it alone."
She knew what Alfonso was getting at, so she had to respond that way.
Suddenly, Alfonso grabbed her hand. "Isabella, I want to share the burden with you. Why won't you give me a chance?"
Isabella was taken aback by Alfonso's sudden move.
She hadn't expected him to be so direct, catching her completely off guard.
She pushed his hand away and said, "Alfonso, don't be silly. This isn't something you should take on."
"But I want to, and I'd be honored to," Alfonso said, looking at her with determined eyes.
"Alfonso, be realistic! You have so much going for you. You should find someone who matches you, someone you can love and spend your life with. Don't waste your time on me; I'm not worth it," Isabella said, standing up.
But Alfonso, having finally spoken his mind, wasn't about to let the moment slip away.
He stepped forward and held her shoulders. "Isabella, I've dated many girls, but you're the only one I'd do anything for. I really love you! Believe me, I can treat your kid as my own. I'll do my best to take care of you both and love you. Besides, the kid needs a father, and I'd love to marry you. Please seriously consider my proposal. Don't rush to reject me!"
Isabella naturally wouldn't agree to Alfonso's proposal.
It was simply too absurd to marry Alfonso while carrying someone else's kid.
Just then, a loud voice came from behind them. "The kid has a father, and Isabella will marry me in the future!"
Isabella and Alfonso turned around to see Leon, wearing a black trench coat, standing behind them.
Seeing Leon suddenly, Isabella was stunned.
Alfonso looked at Leon and asked, "When did you come to Northstar City?"
