Chapter 936 Lovesickness

Realizing she couldn't keep it a secret any longer, Susan pulled a brown paper-wrapped package from her bag, plopped it on the dining table, and said, "Leon dropped this off. He said this powder will help your fractured leg heal faster. He made me promise not to tell you it was from him."

Isabella's eyes went wide with surprise.

Seeing her reaction, Susan continued, "When I told him I was having dinner with you, he looked shocked for a second and then quickly made an excuse to leave."

Isabella glanced at the package and pouted, "My leg's almost healed. Does he really need to worry so much?"

Susan frowned, "You two are so weird. You clearly care about each other but act like you don't. If you keep this up, I'm done playing middleman!"

Isabella felt a warm feeling in her heart. She thought Leon didn't care anymore, but here he was, still looking out for her.

Seeing Leon so thin made Isabella sad, but she didn't know how to show she cared.

She opened the package and found some pitch-black powder inside.

Isabella looked up to see Susan smirking at her. She pushed the powder aside and said with disgust, "What is this? It's so dirty. Who knows where this fake medicine came from? What if it makes my leg worse?"

Susan scolded, "Leon went through a lot to get this for you, and you don't even appreciate it."

Isabella couldn't hold back any longer and asked softly, "Hey, I noticed he's lost a lot of weight."

"I heard he lost ten pounds recently," Susan replied.

"What? Is he on a diet?" Isabella asked, confused.

"With his great figure, does he need to diet? I think he's lovesick," Susan retorted.

"Lovesick," Isabella muttered.

"Isabella, stop torturing him! If you don't like him, then go for Alfonso so Leon can move on," Susan said.

"What does this have to do with Alfonso?" Isabella mumbled.

"What's going on with you and Alfonso? I see him picking you up and dropping you off every day. Are you really going to choose him?" Susan pressed.

"I..." Isabella was at a loss for words.

"Isabella, be honest. Who do you really love?" Susan asked seriously.

Isabella said bitterly, "What's the point of liking him? He doesn't show any interest. Am I supposed to chase after him? I'm not young anymore, but I still have my pride."

Susan laughed, "I knew you liked Leon. Alfonso is just your excuse."

"Alfonso is my best friend. I've never thought of him that way!" Isabella quickly clarified.

"Please, you two, stop making things difficult for each other," Susan said.

"I'm a woman, you know. I don't want to be the one chasing," Isabella pouted.

Susan thought for a moment and then said, "Hey, George's wedding is the day after tomorrow. How about we go together? Leon's definitely gonna be there."

Isabella looked at Susan, confused about her plan.

Susan grinned, "I'll set up a chance for you two. Just be nice and don't argue with Leon. Trust me, it'll work."

"Will it really?" Isabella's face turned red with nerves as she poked at her steak.

"Just make sure you look amazing!" Susan encouraged.

After a day and night of wrestling with herself, Isabella finally decided to go to George's wedding.

Seeing Leon the other day had made her heart ache, and after all this time, she couldn't hold back anymore. She really wanted to see him, even if it meant risking another argument.

This time, she absolutely couldn't argue with him again. If they fought one more time, she and Leon might never see each other again.

Isabella silently vowed, 'Don't talk too much, don't be harsh, be patient.'

To look her best, Isabella went to the hospital to get her cast removed early and bought a stunning burgundy dress. On the wedding day, she spent two hours getting ready before Susan finally pushed her out of the bedroom.

"Oh my, isn't this a bit much?" Susan exclaimed, admiring the fairy-like Isabella.

Isabella wore a burgundy dress, styled her short hair, and added simple, elegant pearl earrings. Her makeup was light, making her look delicate and unforgettable.

"I have to use a wheelchair now, which already looks bad enough. If I don't dress up nicely, how can I go out?" Isabella said with a smile, then nervously asked Susan, "Hey, do I really look pretty? Is there anything off?"

"You look perfect. Leon won't be able to take his eyes off you," Susan said, smiling as she pushed Isabella out the door.

"Susan, maybe I shouldn't go. I'm feeling nervous. What if I argue with him again?" Isabella said anxiously as they got into the taxi.

Susan held Isabella's hand, "You have to face it eventually. No matter what happens today, just follow your heart and don't have any regrets." Susan, speaking from her own experiences to help Isabella, who nodded in response.

George's wedding was grand but not over the top, with lots of guests. By the time Susan and Isabella arrived, the banquet hall was already packed.

Isabella scanned the crowd and immediately spotted Leon.

Seeing him made her heart skip a beat.

It had been a month, and this was the closest they'd been in that time.

Since Isabella had trouble moving, Susan pushed her to a corner and whispered a few words before going to congratulate George and Maria.

"Isabella, you came too?" Suddenly, Isabella couldn't find Leon in the crowd. She was lost in thought when a familiar male voice interrupted her.

Isabella looked up, astonished.
