Chapter 734 I Know You Don't Want Me To Leave
Finally, Susan couldn't lie anymore and had to admit, "He was at my place last night, but he slept on the couch, and I slept in the bed!"
Hearing this, Isabella laughed and said, "Who knows, maybe you two ended up in the same bed at some point during the night."
"Bullshit! Get out and do your work, or I'll dock your bonus this month," Susan blushed and immediately put on a stern face.
Seeing Susan's embarrassment, Isabella waved her hand with a smile. "Just saying, I don't think you two are far off from a full reconciliation."
After saying that, she quickly ran away.
After Isabella left, Susan felt very annoyed and mocked herself in her heart, 'Look at you, getting all flustered over nothing. It's not like you did anything shameful.'
When it was time to get off work in the afternoon, Susan deliberately dawdled and then went to a few nearby stores to browse. It wasn't until 6:30 that she headed home.
Susan didn't know if he would be at home cooking; she just didn't know how to face him when she got back.
At 6:40, Susan slowly opened the door to her home.
Stepping inside, Susan saw a figure in a white shirt busy in the kitchen under the bright lights.
He really was cooking. She couldn't even remember if he knew how to cook. She was really afraid he might ruin her kitchen utensils.
Probably hearing the door open, the next moment, Seb, with an apron tied around his waist, poked his head out of the kitchen.
"You're back? Dinner will be ready soon. Go wash your hands and change your clothes," Seb said with a smile, holding a spatula in his hand.
Seeing Seb like this, Susan frowned slightly.
The next moment, Seb turned around and went back to the kitchen to continue cooking.
She had seen him commanding respect in the business world, confident at the negotiation table, and charming at social events, but she had never seen him busy in the kitchen with an apron around his waist.
The next moment, Susan's eyes swept across the living room.
The living room was spotless. She remembered that she was in a hurry in the morning and didn't have time to clean up.
Susan turned and went to the bedroom, seeing that it was also very clean. She had left in such a rush that she didn't even make the bed.
She knew it must have been Seb who cleaned up, and she couldn't help but curl her lips. He had never done such things before.
After changing into her loungewear from the wardrobe, Susan went to the bathroom to wash her hands.
Susan found that the bathroom was also very clean, and the toothpaste had been replaced with a new one. The toothpaste had been running low for days, and she hadn't had time to buy more.
Doing housework actually takes a lot of time. Susan tilted her head, wondering when he had come back. Had he been working here for several hours?
After lingering in the bathroom for a long time, Susan finally came out.
When she arrived in the living room, dinner was already set on the dining table.
At this moment, Seb took off his apron and looked at Susan with a smile. "Sorry, I haven't learned how to make more complicated dishes yet. Today, I could only make steak and pasta for you."
Susan walked to the dining table and saw two servings of perfectly grilled steak, two small portions of pasta, fruit salad, and caviar. Although simple, it was still a delicious meal.
To be honest, Susan had been wandering around for quite a while and was already a bit hungry. Now, seeing the delicious food on the table, her appetite was immediately aroused.
But she had to hold back; otherwise, he would get too smug.
"Why are you standing there? Sit down and eat," Seb said with a smile, pushing Susan to sit down.
The next moment, Seb took out a bottle of red wine from somewhere, smiling as he brought over two crystal wine glasses and poured them each a glass.
"I don't have wine glasses at home, do I?" Susan asked in surprise, looking at the glass in front of her.
"I specially went to the supermarket to buy them today. I noticed that a lot of things in your place were running out, so I bought them all. By the way, I saw that your sanitary pads were almost gone, so I bought a big pack for you!" Seb said with a smile as he sat across from Susan.
"What?" Susan was so shocked that her eyes almost popped out.
She remembered that he had bought sanitary pads for her once before, but that was when she was in the hospital and had no other choice.
Now, he, a man, openly went to the supermarket to buy sanitary pads. She was really impressed!
Seeing Susan's surprised look, Seb puffed out his chest, looking oddly proud of himself. "I'm quite the expert, you know. It's been a while, but I still remember to get both day and night pads. The cashier even complimented me on being so thoughtful!"
Seeing Seb's smug look, Susan thought to herself, 'I have to hand it to you, Seb. To make me happy, you're really going all out, even at the cost of your dignity.'
However, this time she wouldn't give in so easily. She couldn't let Isabella be right, thinking that sleeping with him once would solve all their problems.
"Cheers?" The next moment, Seb raised his glass.
Susan looked down at the red wine in her glass and frowned. "I have a bit of a cold, so I can't drink."
Hearing this, Seb put down his glass with unusual concern and reached out to touch Susan's forehead.
"What are you doing?" Susan quickly leaned back, not wanting his hand to touch her.
"Good thing you don't have a fever. I'll go out and buy you some medicine after dinner," Seb said with a sigh of relief.
Seeing him make a fuss, Susan said, "I have medicine at home."
Hearing this, Seb grinned and said, "I know you don't want me to leave; you want me to stay and keep you company."
Hearing this, Susan felt speechless. She had never seen someone so narcissistic!
Susan rolled her eyes at him and then lowered her head to eat the steak with a knife and fork.
To be honest, the steak was really well-cooked, just the right doneness. Any more or less would have ruined the taste.
"How's the steak?" Seb asked, trying to please her.
"It's okay," Susan said, but she kept eating piece after piece.
"How's the pasta?" Seb asked, looking at Susan.
"Not bad," Susan replied coldly, but she kept eating.
"How's the salad?" Seb kept asking, not eating himself.
"Make do," Susan nodded, her eyes fixed on the food in front of her.
Hearing this, Seb's lips curled into a deep smile as he looked at Susan.
