Chapter 204 A Man and a Woman Alone
Seeing Seb in a black shirt outside the door, Susan froze. Realizing what was happening, she quickly tried to shut the door.
But Seb pushed it open and walked in.
"Seb, what do you want?" Susan asked, a bit scared. She couldn't believe he found her.
Seb looked around and said coldly, "Hiding in George's house? A single woman in a single man's house—aren't you worried about what people will say?"
Susan was furious but kept her cool.
Knowing she couldn't make Seb leave, she sat on the sofa and said, "We're both single, so it's fine. Better than a married man chasing other women!"
Seb was momentarily speechless, his eyes darkening.
"You're not welcome here. Leave now!" Susan said coldly, not looking at him.
"It's not your call. Are you the mistress of this house?" Seb sneered.
Susan bit her lip and shot back, "I could be if I wanted. Just watch!"
For some reason, Seb always made the usually composed Susan flustered and babble.
Angered by her words, Seb grabbed her arm and pulled her up from the sofa."What do you want?" Susan was scared. She was pregnant and couldn't handle Seb's roughness.
"Come back with me, or face the consequences," Seb warned, eyes cold.
"I have nothing to do with you. I'm not going!" Susan knew Seb only cared about the baby she was carrying.
"You're carrying my child. You have to come back," Seb said, dragging her to the door.
Panicking, Susan clung to the sofa and shouted, "George!"
Seb's eyes darkened. He probably didn't think George was home.
Then he noticed a sweaty T-shirt on the sofa and heard running water.
Seb's eyes locked on the bathroom.
His face darkened.
"You're pregnant and still doing this? Aren't you afraid of losing the baby?" Seb accused.
"What are you talking about?" Susan, still clinging to the sofa, didn't get it.
Seb, red with anger, shouted, "George, get out here!"
Inside the bathroom, George must've heard the shouting because the water stopped immediately.
The door opened, and George, in a white bathrobe with wet hair, hurried out.
He saw Seb in his house and Susan clinging to the sofa, looking stunned.
Seeing George in just a bathrobe, Seb's anger flared even more.
Seb stepped forward, grabbed George by the collar, and snarled, "What do you mean by going after my woman?"
George, though embarrassed, replied confidently, "Is Susan your woman? What about Cynthia? You and Susan are divorced!"
Seb was enraged. He pushed George against the wall and roared, "She's pregnant with my child!"
George was stunned, then laughed coldly. "Can you marry her? Can you take responsibility for the child?"
Susan's eyes fell on Seb's tense face. She wanted to know the answer too.
Seeing Seb's hesitation, Susan knew the answer was no.
With Cynthia still in the hospital, how could he marry her?
Last time, Seb married her for the child because Cynthia wasn't around.
But now, with Cynthia back, Seb would rather let her child be born illegitimate than hurt Cynthia.
Susan's heart shattered. Any lingering hopes for Seb were gone. It was time to face reality.
She lowered her eyes.
Seeing Seb's silence, George sneered, "You can't, because the woman you care about is still in the hospital!"
Seb frowned deeply, his heart bleeding.
With Hayden still undergoing treatment, he couldn't think about marrying Susan. He was waiting for her to give birth so he could use the baby's umbilical cord blood to save Hayden.
He didn't dare tell Susan about Hayden, fearing she'd be devastated if something happened to him. Losing another child would be unbearable.
So, Seb chose to be irresponsible. He silently apologized to Susan in his heart.
His only focus was saving Hayden; everything else was secondary.
Seb slowly released his grip on George's bathrobe.
George's eyes were fixed on Seb as he said, "If you can't, then don't bother Susan!"
"Are you saying you can?" Seb glared at George.
