Chapter 326 Feeling a Bit Uncomfortable
Upon hearing this, Susan's brow furrowed.
She wanted to go check Seb, but she was also kinda freaked out. The memory of Seb holding her hand was still fresh, and she had no clue how to face him.
Right now, Susan was super grateful to Seb. If it weren't for him, Dorothy and Amanda might've been goners. And Seb was so messed up; she had no idea how to thank him properly.
Seeing Susan hesitate, Leon thought she didn't wanna go in and said, "Please, go in and talk to him. He won't let the nurse treat him. The nurse said the wound's deep, and the river water's filthy. He's at high risk of infection, and it'll be a real pain if it gets infected."
Hearing this, Susan couldn't hold back anymore. Without thinking, she stepped forward and pushed the door open.
"Get out!" Seb's face was turned towards the window, so he couldn't see who came in. Hearing the door open, he coldly barked.
Seb was still the same, doing things his own way. Susan was pretty ticked off inside.
Closing the door, Susan walked step by step to Seb's bedside.
"I told you to get out. Didn't you hear me?" Hearing the footsteps, Seb growled irritably.
But when Seb turned his face, he suddenly saw Susan. He was momentarily speechless and stammered, "Why are you here?"
"If you're not welcoming, I'll leave right away!" Susan said, pretending to turn and leave.
The next moment, just as Susan expected, her wrist was tightly grabbed by Seb!
"I thought it was the nurse or Leon." Seb wanted to explain but didn't know how to continue.
Hearing this, Susan couldn't help but smirk. Then she turned around, her eyes falling on Seb's leg wrapped in white gauze.
Seeing Seb's leg wrapped in gauze, Susan couldn't help but gasp, feeling as if her own leg started to hurt.
Seeing Susan's gaze, Seb said lightly, "Don't worry, it's just a few stitches. That doctor must be a rookie, wrapping my leg so badly!"
Susan's eyes reddened a bit. She looked at Seb seriously and said, "You got thirty-eight stitches."
Susan was really exasperated with Seb; he was still joking around.
Didn't Leon just say Seb was throwing a fit in the ward? How come he was trying to cheer her up now?
Looking down at Seb holding her hand, Susan quietly pushed his hand away and then sat on a chair by the bed.
Susan's actions made Seb feel a bit disappointed, but seeing her sitting by his side, he felt happy because it meant she wanted to stay with him a little longer.
"This injury is nothing to me; don't worry." Seb's eyes were fixed on Susan.
Susan knew what she should do at this moment, so she directly met his gaze and asked, "I heard you won't let the nurse treat you?"
Hearing this, Seb was stunned for a moment, then said, "That's not true. I just asked the nurse to come a bit later."
Hearing this, Susan almost wanted to laugh. She thought, 'Seb is actually being quite obedient today.'
Susan put on a stern face and said, "Alright, I'm calling the nurse in now."
Without waiting for Seb's consent, she got up and left the ward.
Stepping out and closing the door, Susan saw Leon anxiously approaching. Leon glanced towards the ward and asked, "Ms. Wilson, how's it going?"
"Go get the nurse," Susan replied calmly.
Hearing this, Leon was overjoyed. "Ms. Wilson, you mean Mr. Anderson agreed to the treatment?"
"Yep." Susan smiled slightly and nodded.
Leon couldn't help but give Susan a thumbs up. "Ms. Wilson, you really know how to handle him!"
Blushing at Leon's praise, Susan watched as he quickly headed to the nurse's station.
Turning to look at the ward door behind her, Susan then walked back in.
Sitting back by Seb's bedside, Susan sincerely said, "Thanks for saving Dorothy and Amanda."
"It was nothing," Seb said with a faint smile.
Seb's smile was gentle, but it made Susan feel uneasy. She lowered her eyes and said, "If it weren't for saving them, you wouldn't have gotten so badly hurt, and you wouldn't have missed your date."
Hearing the last part, Seb's brows furrowed.
Just as Seb was about to explain, his phone rang.
The phone was flashing and vibrating at the foot of the bed, out of Seb's reach.
Seeing this, Susan got up and picked up the phone. Glancing at the screen, she saw Linda's name. There was no way she could pretend not to see it.
The next moment, Susan handed the phone to Seb with a blank expression.
Seb took the phone from Susan, glanced at the flashing number on the screen, and frowned.
At this moment, Susan suddenly said, "If it's inconvenient, I can step out."
"Not at all," Seb said with a frown, then pressed the answer button.
Hearing this, Susan sat back in the chair, fiddling with her hair, pretending to be indifferent. In reality, she was straining to hear the conversation.
"Mr. Anderson, did you forget about our date? I've been waiting for you at the revolving restaurant for over an hour. I've called you several times, but you didn't answer." Linda's soft voice came through immediately.
Before Linda could finish, Seb interrupted her in a deep voice, "Sorry, something came up, so I missed our date."
"It's okay. I know you're busy. How about we reschedule?" Linda was still hopeful for another date.
Seb glanced at Susan, then said, "I'm afraid I won't be free anytime soon. I'm very busy. We'll see if there's a chance. Goodbye!"
Without waiting for Linda to respond, Seb immediately hung up the phone.
From the conversation, Susan knew that Seb and Linda didn't have a deep relationship, but she still felt a bit uncomfortable.
Then, Susan forced a smile and said, "You speak so harshly; you might break her heart."
Hearing this, Seb's eyes darkened, and he suddenly grabbed Susan's hand.
Feeling her hand tighten, Susan frowned.
