Chapter 1107 Anger
Upon hearing this, Cecilia instantly gave up struggling.
Because Daryl was right; their relationship was merely a financial transaction, and what he was doing now was not unreasonable.
The next moment, Cecilia closed her eyes in despair, tears rolling down her cheeks and falling onto the bedsheet.
A long time later, Cecilia lay motionless on the large bed, as if paralyzed, listening to the sound of water coming from the bathroom.
The room was pitch black, and Cecilia's eyes gazed at the faint starlight outside the window, a look of sorrow etched between her brows.
She increasingly couldn't understand Daryl. 'If he has wanted to take revenge on me out of pride before, he has already settled the score with me many times. Why wouldn't he let me go now? Or is he just a philanderer? He has Skylar before, and now he is entangling with me, which shows he is someone who leaves his affections everywhere.'
The more Cecilia thought about it, the sadder she became, but she was powerless to change anything because she had to abide by the contract. If she didn't, Daryl would surely have ways to deal with her.
In the days that followed, Cecilia became increasingly miserable.
Daryl either didn't come home or came back drunk.
The first thing he did upon returning was to have sex with Cecilia. Gradually, Cecilia stopped resisting, adopting a submissive attitude.
However, when she truly became submissive, Daryl would push her away in disappointment.
Cecilia didn't know what Daryl wanted, thinking maybe he just enjoyed the feeling of being resisted.
She increasingly couldn't understand Daryl and could only get through each day, hoping time would pass quickly.
One day, Cecilia was walking out of the classroom with her books.
"Cecilia!" She heard Violet's voice from behind.
Cecilia turned her head, and sure enough, it was Violet.
"Violet." Cecilia smiled and greeted her.
Violet and Cecilia walked and chatted.
"Cecilia, I've noticed you look really pale lately, with no energy at all," Violet said, scrutinizing Cecilia.
Hearing this, Cecilia touched her cheek and said perfunctorily, "Maybe I've been too tired lately and haven't been able to sleep."
Upon hearing this, Violet laughed. "It seems Daryl is quite capable. In just over half a year, he's worn you out like this."
Hearing this, Cecilia blushed and quickly said, "What are you talking about?"
At this moment, Violet whispered in Cecilia's ear, "Your situation is very common. Many newly married women, especially those who are already physically weak, can't handle their new husbands' constant sex demands and become listless. You need to buy some supplements and not let Daryl have his way too much!"
Hearing this, Cecilia's face blushed, but she still denied it. "No way."
In fact, Cecilia had realized that she had indeed been a bit exhausted over the past two months. Although Daryl sometimes didn't come home for days, when he did, he had an insatiable appetite for sex. She was really scared now.
"You can't fool me. Although I don't have much experience, my brother and his wife were like this in their first year of marriage," Violet said knowingly.
Hearing this, Cecilia frowned, feeling a bit worried about her health. After all, health was the most important thing. It seemed that being a bed partner, although well-paid, was really not an easy job. Cecilia mocked herself in her heart.
At this moment, Violet suddenly sighed.
"What's wrong?" Cecilia asked, looking at Violet.
Violet raised her eyebrows and said, "You're so lucky to have Daryl by your side. My boyfriend is in Sunshine Bay City, and we can only see each other once in a while."
Cecilia smiled bitterly and comforted her, "As long as you love each other, separation is always temporary,"
She thought mockingly to herself, 'At least Violet and her boyfriend have love, but Daryl and I are just a contractual relationship.'
"Alright, I won't keep you. Bye!" Violet then walked away, looking dejected.
After Violet left, Cecilia felt even more desolate.
That evening, Cecilia had just walked into the villa.
Freya quietly ran over and grabbed Cecilia, saying, "Ms. Thorne, Mr. Fields is back. He's upstairs and seems very unhappy."
Hearing this, Cecilia felt a pang of anxiety.
These days, Daryl typically returned home late at night, but he came back unusually early today. Moreover, he seemed unhappy, suggesting that she might be in trouble again.
Thinking of this, Cecilia felt a chill in her heart, and her legs went weak.
"Mr. Fields said that when you come back, you should go upstairs," Freya added.
Hearing this, Cecilia knew she couldn't avoid it.
The next moment, Cecilia frowned and resolutely went upstairs.
Walking into her bedroom, Cecilia immediately saw Daryl sitting in a chair.
At this moment, the setting sun's rays shone through the window onto his face. He sat there motionless like a statue, with no expression on his face.
Although there was no expression on his face, Cecilia could still see the gloom in his eyes and the anger between his brows.
Cecilia lowered her head, not knowing how she had offended Daryl again.
Cecilia stood in the middle of the room, her eyes fixed on Daryl.
After their gazes clashed in the air for several seconds, Daryl raised something towards Cecilia and sternly questioned, "Is this yours?"
Hearing this, Cecilia glanced at what Daryl was holding between his fingers.
She saw a small white medicine bottle with tiny writing on it that she couldn't read. However, the bottle was familiar because it had a blue cap and a blue label.
Seeing the bottle in Daryl's hand, Cecilia was shocked.
"How did you find it?" Cecilia asked in surprise.
Hearing this, Daryl suddenly stood up from the chair.
"So, it is yours?" Daryl continued to question.
"Yes." Cecilia turned her face away and answered.
Hearing this, Daryl hesitated for a moment, then suddenly threw the bottle onto the floor with force.
The next moment, the bottle was ruthlessly smashed onto the floor, rolling away somewhere.
Daryl stepped forward and grabbed Cecilia's shoulders tightly, gritting his teeth as he asked, "Do you hate me that much? Do you not want to have my kid? Did you get my permission? You're secretly taking this medicine!"
Cecilia's shoulders hurt immensely, and Daryl's voice was deafening, making her frown involuntarily.
