Chapter 347 Uneasy Heart

At this moment, Spring's in her crib, probably catching wind of the argument. She let out a little murmur and rolled over.

Susan rushed over, gave Spring's tiny arm a few pats in the moonlight, and then, Spring's back in dreamland.

But Susan? She couldn't sleep a wink. Kept touching her swollen lips without even realizing it.

Finally, in the dead of night, she drifted off.

This night, she was dreaming a lot. Some guy's all over her, kissing and touching, making her heart race and her body tingle.

Morning came, and Susan woke up all jittery.

Thinking about that dream, her face wnet red. 'What's wrong with me? Is it 'cause I haven't had a man in forever?' she wondered, feeling a bit disgusted with herself.

She used to think a woman could do just fine without a man once she had kids. But Seb shattered that idea last night with just one kiss.

Now, she's cursing Seb in her head, wishing all sorts of bad stuff on him.

But then she stopped, feeling uneasy. Seb's Spring and Hayden's dad. The kids needed him around. He couldn't just drop dead.

But the curse was out there now. What to do?

In the end, she spat on the clean floor. Wasn't that supposed to cancel out curses or something?

After a bit, Spring woke up. Susan got her cleaned up and headed downstairs. By then, Kathy'd got breakfast ready, and Hayden's already at the table, ready to chow down before preschool.

Just as Hayden's about to head out, the doorbell rang. Kathy wnet to answer it.

Susan handed Spring to Mary, grabbed Hayden's hand, and headed to the living room. There, she saw Kathy leading in a bunch of young women in uniforms, all loaded down with shopping bags.

Susan's like, "What the heck is this?"

"Mommy, look at all the pretty clothes, bags, shoes, and makeup!" Hayden, all curious, broke free and started checking out the bags.

While Susan's still trying to figure it out, Kathy grinned and said, "Ms. Wilson, these are all from Mr. Anderson. The store delivered them. He said you should try everything. You can just send those you don't like back, and they'll bring different styles."

Susan frowned.

Yesterday, Kathy mentioned the store might send some pajamas or something, but this was over the top. She glanceed at the bags. Six attendants, each with ten or eight bags. That's like fifty or sixty bags. Was Seb trying to move the whole store here?

The attendants stepped up, all smiles, showing off what they brought.

"Ms. Wilson, I'm from the clothing department. We've got five dresses, three pairs of pants, three shirts, and two suits, all the latest styles in your size. Wanna try them on?"

"Ms. Wilson, I'm from the shoe department. Got five pairs of high heels, three casual shoes, and two sneakers, all in your size. Wanna try 'em on?"

"Ms. Wilson, I'm from the lingerie department. Got ten sets of lingerie here. Wanna see if they fit? They're all your size."

"Ms. Wilson, I'm from the bag department. Got five shoulder bags, three handbags, and two casual bags. Like any of 'em? They're all high-end, international brands."

"Ms. Wilson, I'm from the cosmetics department. Got five sets of makeup. I can help you try 'em on, see what suits you best."

"Ms. Wilson, I'm from the miscellaneous department. Got five sets of pajamas and some daily necessities. Wanna check 'em out?"

Susan's head was spinning from all the chatter.

She looked over the stuff, feeling pretty grossed out. What was Seb trying to pull?

Seb seriously underestimated her. She wasn't after his cash.

Hayden, seeing all the shiny new stuff, couldn't help but laugh. "Mommy, Daddy's really generous. Shows you're his true love. He bought you so much stuff at once. Daddy's stingy with me. Every time I pick out toys, he only lets me choose one!"

Hayden pouted, looking all sad.

Susan glanced at Hayden, then took his hand and said to Kathy, "Kathy, send them all away. I'll buy my own stuff."

With that, Susan took Hayden and walked out.

The attendants, not wanting to lose the sale, rushed after her.

"Ms. Wilson, these are all Mr. Anderson's kind intentions. Why not pick a few things you like?"

"Yeah, they're all high-end brands, very prestigious, and classic styles."

Susan ignored them, carrying Hayden's backpack in one hand and holding his hand with the other, and left the villa.

"Mommy, Daddy gave you so much stuff, why aren't you happy?" Hayden asked, looking up at her.

"You're just a kid; you don't get it." Susan was still fuming.

Did Seb think she could be bought with money? Did he think she was just the type of woman like Amelia? Susan felt a deep sadness, like her dignity had been stomped on.

"But Daddy said I'm already a man." Hayden didn't feel like a little kid at all.

"Is everything your Daddy says right?" Susan snapped, then pushed him into preschool.

Hayden, carrying his backpack, walked in, muttering, " men really don't get women's hearts! Daddy, you blew it again."

Back at the villa, Susan changed her shoes and walked into the living room, only to be shocked by the sight of shopping bags everywhere.

Seeing the bags still there but the attendants gone, Susan angrily called out, "Kathy!"

"Ms. Wilson, you're back?" Kathy heard her and quickly ran out from the laundry room.

"Why are these things still here?" Susan pointed to the pile of shopping bags on the floor and asked.
