Chapter 1211 A Fresh Experience
Originally, Cecilia planned to open up at this moment and tell Daryl that she had broken up with Barry and decided to be with him.
However, seeing his cold demeanor and the strange look in his eyes, she suddenly felt the need to create some suspense.
Cecilia's words made Daryl frown in confusion, but he remained silent.
Seeing him not speak, Cecilia pursed her lips and also stayed silent, thinking, she wanted to see how long he could hold out.
Soon, the waiter began to serve the dishes one by one.
Seeing the delicious and aromatic dishes on the table, Cecilia realized she was starving.
Because she had been worried about Daryl these past two days, she had hardly eaten anything, and now her stomach was growling, especially with so much good food in front of her.
Cecilia picked up her knife and fork, started serving herself, and said, "I'm starving."
With that, she began to eat heartily, not caring about Daryl sitting across from her.
Seeing Cecilia gobbling down her food, Daryl couldn't help but frown and complain, "How did Barry take care of you? How could he let you get this hungry?"
Hearing his complaint about Barry, Cecilia said, "It's not Barry's fault. He's very caring and considerate. It's just that I haven't been eating well these past two days."
Hearing Cecilia defend Barry like that, Daryl was displeased but said nothing. After all, they were still a couple, so who was he to say anything?
Cecilia chewed her food while looking at him and asked curiously, "Why aren't you eating? Oh, did you already eat?"
Daryl reached for a bottle of mineral water, unscrewed the cap, took a couple of sips, and then replied, "You go ahead and eat. I don't have an appetite."
"Such good food, and you don't have an appetite?" Cecilia waved a chicken wing in front of his eyes.
But Daryl remained unmoved by the temptation of the food.
Seeing him not eat, Cecilia assumed he must have already eaten, so she focused on her meal.
Cecilia would occasionally glance up at Daryl, noticing that he kept looking at her with a complex expression, as if he was holding something back.
Seeing him like this, Cecilia suddenly felt soft-hearted. She shouldn't have created suspense. If he knew she had broken up with Barry, he would be overjoyed.
Cecilia put down her knife and fork and said, "I'm full."
Daryl called the waiter over and handed him a credit card. "Check, please."
"Sir, please wait a moment." The waiter immediately went to process the payment.
Daryl stood up and said, "It's getting late. I'll take you home."
Cecilia frowned and said, "I have something to tell you."
"What?" Daryl asked, frowning at her.
"I..." Seeing him staring at her so seriously, Cecilia suddenly didn't know what to say.
The waiter came over, handed the credit card back to Daryl with both hands, and said, "The bill is settled. We look forward to your next visit."
Daryl took the credit card, put it in his pocket, and then looked at her and asked, "What do you want to tell me?"
"I want you to go to the movies with me," Cecilia blurted out.
She looked around at the other diners and waiters and realized that this wasn't the right place to talk about getting back together. So she thought of going to a movie, where she could tell him everything in the theater.
Daryl frowned and looked at her as if she were a monster.
"What's wrong?" Cecilia looked down at herself, feeling that his gaze was too strange.
Daryl stared at Cecilia seriously and said, "Cecilia, if you want to watch a movie, ask Barry to go with you, not me. Do you understand?"
Seeing Daryl's serious expression, Cecilia couldn't help but want to laugh. She thought, 'He has good morals, knowing that he shouldn't get too close to a woman who has a boyfriend.'
Cecilia held back her laughter and said, "Barry is very busy lately. I want you to go to a movie with me. If you don't want to, I'll find someone else!"
With that, Cecilia took out her phone to call a friend.
Daryl frowned, grabbed her phone, and said, "It's already past ten. Who are you going to find to go to the movies with you? Do you understand that it's dangerous for a woman to go out alone?"
Seeing Daryl angry, Cecilia found him particularly handsome.
Cecilia pouted and said, "That's why I want you to go with me."
Daryl's face tightened, and he said nothing.
Cecilia grabbed Daryl's arm and said, "Come on, I know there's a movie that's doing well at the box office right now."
Daryl had no choice but to reluctantly agree because it was late, and he was worried about Cecilia going alone or with friends.
Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at the movie theater.
Cecilia pointed to a poster of a popular romance movie and said, "I want to see that one. I heard the love story between the main characters is very tragic and touching!"
Daryl glanced at the poster and frowned.
She went to the ticket counter, pointed to a pair of couple's seats, and said, "We want these two seats."
Seeing the couple's seats she pointed to, he was about to say something, but she had already paid and pulled him into the theater.
Sitting in the couple's seats, Daryl felt like he was sitting on pins and needles.
The couple's seats were just two connected seats with no armrests in between, making it easier for couples to cuddle.
For a romance movie like this, most of the audience were young couples, so the couple's seats were full, while the seats in the front were mostly empty, as it was already a midnight show.
The movie soon started, beginning with a passionate confession between the male and female leads.
Back in Northstar City, Cecilia and Daryl had watched a few movies together, but they had never sat in a couple's seats. This was a new experience.
Cecilia glanced at Daryl, who was sitting stiffly next to her, keeping a certain distance from her.
He was very tense, his eyes fixed on the screen, and his brows furrowed.
Her heart was racing. She felt she should tell him the truth. His awkwardness was both funny and heart-wrenching.
The movie then showed a scene of the male and female leads embracing and kissing passionately.
