Chapter 780 Worried

After Cecilia and Spring chatted for a while, Susan smiled and said, "Miss Thorne, thank you. I wish you a speedy recovery."

Hearing this, Cecilia's lips twitched.

Just as Susan was about to leave, Cecilia suddenly said, "Ms. Wilson, can I have a word with you alone?"

Hearing this, Susan was momentarily taken aback, not knowing what Cecilia wanted to say, but she still agreed with a smile.

"Of course." The next moment, Susan nodded and took Spring's hand, saying, "Go play outside with Mary for a while. I'll be out soon."

"Got it." Spring obediently nodded and waved at Cecilia before leaving. "Miss Thorne, goodbye!"

"Goodbye!" Cecilia smiled and waved at Spring.

After Spring left, Cecilia's gaze fell on the bouquet of flowers in the vase on the bedside table.

"I hope you like the flowers." To be honest, Susan didn't have a good impression of Cecilia, but she was grateful that Cecilia had just comforted Spring.

"Thank you, I like them very much. I just didn't expect you to visit me," Cecilia said, looking at Susan.

Susan shrugged and smiled, saying, "To be honest, if it weren't for Spring insisting on coming, I probably wouldn't have come today."

"You're very straightforward," Cecilia said.

"I don't see the need to lie," Susan smiled.

"Maybe I can understand why Mr. Anderson is so deeply in love with you," Cecilia suddenly said, looking at Susan.

Hearing this, Susan frowned, not understanding what she meant.

Seeing Susan's expression, Cecilia quickly said, "Please don't misunderstand. I didn't mean anything by it. I just feel a bit sorry for you. I hope you can accept my apology. I didn't intentionally want to ruin your family. It's just that Mr. Anderson is the only wealthy person from the same country that I know. As you might have heard, my family urgently needs money, so I targeted your husband."

Susan was utterly surprised by Cecilia's blunt confession and had to reassess her impression of Cecilia.

"I think you're even more straightforward than I am," Susan didn't know what to say.

Cecilia smiled and said, "Maybe your straightforwardness influenced me. Mr. Anderson is different from other wealthy people. He has his principles and boundaries, and he loves you very much. I envy you and hope you cherish it!"

Hearing this, Susan said with a smile, "Of course, I will cherish it. But you also need to learn to cherish the people around you!"

Mentioning Daryl, Cecilia's face darkened, and after a while, she said, "Daryl is a very talented person. Being with me would only drag him down. He needs a girl from a good family background. But I don't think he will come looking for me again."

By the end, Cecilia had a bitter smile on her face.

Hearing this, Susan frowned and then suddenly realized. "You said those things earlier to drive him away?"

Hearing this, Cecilia nodded, then walked to the window and looked outside, saying, "Actually, he didn't wrong me. I did try to seduce a wealthy person, but I didn't succeed."

"Are you two lovers?" Susan asked, frowning.

Susan now roughly understood that Cecilia was probably trying to drive Daryl away on purpose.

After hesitating for a moment, Cecilia answered, "We met by chance half a year ago and then fell in love. We've been very happy together, but my family has had one problem after another. His parents are well-educated people. The difference in our backgrounds are too vast. It's better to end things now than face greater heartache later."

Susan could see from Cecilia's eyes that she admired and loved Daryl very much because her eyes were moist.

Susan suddenly felt that she and Cecilia were in a similar situation, both loving someone but unable to be with them.

So, Susan felt a sense of sympathy for Cecilia.

After thinking for a moment, Susan smiled and said, "I'm an outsider, but I still want to say a few words. Your mother has had a hard time, and your brother has sacrificed a lot for you. It's noble to want to repay your family's sacrifices, but not at the cost of your own happiness. They wouldn't want that for you."

Mentioning her mother and brother, Cecilia couldn't help but cry.

Seeing her sadness, Susan no longer held any grudges against her. She took out a few tissues from her bag and handed them to Cecilia.

After taking the tissue, Cecilia wiped her tears and held back her emotions. "Ms. Wilson, thank you for your advice. But everyone has different choices and missions. I will think about it more."

Hearing this, Susan knew that saying more would be useless.

So, Susan smiled and said, "Take care and get well soon. I'll be leaving now."

"Goodbye!" Cecilia smiled slightly.

After leaving the ward, Susan took Spring's hand and walked out, feeling a bit heavy-hearted.

As they walked out of the hospital, Spring shouted, "Daddy!"

Susan looked up and saw a tall man in a black cashmere coat standing in front of a luxury car.

At this moment, his gaze fell on her and Spring, and he waved at Spring.

"Daddy's here to pick us up!" Spring said excitedly, letting go of Susan's hand and running over.

Seb bent down, scooped Spring up from the ground, and spun her around twice. Spring laughed excitedly.

Seeing this, Susan's lips curled into a happy smile.

The next moment, Susan walked up to Seb and asked, "Why are you here?"

"I was worried about you two, so I came to pick you up," Seb said, looking at Susan.

Susan smiled and said, "Cecilia isn't a dangerous person. What's there to worry about?"

Seb reached out and held Susan's hand. "I don't know, I was just worried about you."

Seeing the affection in his eyes, Susan felt a bit shy and lowered her eyes, saying, "Let's go home."

"Okay." Seb nodded, then handed Spring to Mary.

Mary took Spring to the front seat, while Seb and Susan sat in the back. The driver quickly got in and drove the car onto the road.

The hospital was close to the villa, and soon the car arrived. Seb instructed Mary, "Mary, take Spring back. We have something to do elsewhere."

"Okay," Mary responded and got out of the car with Spring.

"Daddy, Mommy, goodbye!" Spring waved her little hand at Seb and Susan.
