Chapter 1010: Aren't You Tired

Evelyn was overwhelmed with emotions and couldn't think straight. Just as Dermot was about to leave, she pulled him close and kissed him.

She thought she must be losing it.

Dermot pushed her away, looking her in the eyes. "Do you know what you're doing?"

"No, I don't know anything." She didn't want to think, just follow her heart.

"Remember, you started this," Dermot said, then kissed her passionately.

The kiss deepened, neither pulling away, both seeking solace in each other.

Evelyn couldn't remember how they ended up in the bedroom or on the bed.

When she woke up sore the next day, she saw the empty room and scattered clothes, realizing what had happened.

She and Dermot...

Evelyn held her head, feeling a headache.

When she was his wife, nothing happened. Even as his girlfriend, things stayed the same.

But now, with no relationship and about to move into Joshua's villa, it happened.

Dermot had been drinking, but she was sober. She still didn't understand why she agreed.

Maybe she didn't want any regrets. Even if they couldn't be together, at least for that moment, they belonged to each other.

The bedroom door creaked open, and Evelyn instinctively pulled the blanket up. Seeing Dermot, she blushed and felt irritated. "Why didn't you knock?"

Dermot chuckled. "Do we really need to knock? There's nothing about you I haven't seen."

Evelyn glared. "Get out; I need to get dressed."

"Alright, I'll wait in the living room for breakfast," Dermot said with a smile.

After he left, Evelyn got up, showered, dressed, and went to the living room.

At the table, she saw hot porridge and hot dogs. She was amazed at Dermot's energy to make such a breakfast after a late night.

"Let's eat," Dermot waved as she came out.

Evelyn sat down, feeling complicated. "Aren't you tired?"

"Not really." Dermot smiled, teasing, "You should be more tired; you fell asleep quickly last night."

He had wanted to chat after sex, but she had fallen asleep.

Evelyn was speechless. They had been up half the night; it would be strange if she hadn't fallen asleep.

"Mr. Doyle, you certainly have impressive stamina," Evelyn teased.

Dermot smirked. "You should know by now."

Evelyn blushed, deciding not to talk to him anymore.

As they sat in silence, Evelyn's phone rang. They both looked at it, seeing it was a call from Joshua, their expressions changing.

"What's up, Joshua?" Evelyn answered, feeling Dermot's gaze on her, making her uneasy.

"I'm at the entrance of your complex. Which floor are you on? I'll come up to get you," Joshua's voice came through the phone.

Dermot's expression was already sour, and now it grew even darker.
