Chapter 890 I Wanted to Ask You Out Every Day

Dermot wasn't sure if Margaret had turned her love into hate or if she was the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. He just handed Randy all the clues he had found and let him handle it.

After all, if people in the Doyle family could be bought, how could anyone living in the Doyle family feel safe?

If it were Dermot, he certainly wouldn't feel safe.

Randy felt the same way when he found out someone in the Doyle family had been bribed. If the Martin family had tampered with his food, he could have died.

Before meeting Evelyn, Dermot heard the Doyles had started a thorough investigation, likely expelling quite a few people.

Given the situation, Gerald's death could only be blamed on the Martin family. Since they had just shown up, they had to take the blame.

"So, you have time for coffee today," Evelyn noted, impressed by Dermot's luck and abilities.

If the members of the Martin family hadn't made a move, Dermot wouldn't have had anyone to blame for a while.

Dermot smiled. "I want to ask you out every day, but I'm afraid you'll find me annoying."

He wanted to ask Evelyn out daily but feared she'd find him bothersome.

Evelyn smiled slightly, feeling a bit awkward at his words.

Dermot chuckled, noticing her embarrassment. "What about you? What's been going on?"

Thinking about the hospital, Evelyn sighed and told Dermot about Amelia. She didn't expect him to solve her problems; she just wanted to talk and give vent to her frustration.

After listening, Dermot said, "Is that all?"

"Well, it might be a small matter to you," Evelyn said, pressing her lips. Unlike Dermot, who dealt with multimillion-dollar deals daily, her hospital issues seemed indeed minor.

There were many other issues, too. Evelyn could talk for days about them.

"I didn't mean it that way," Dermot quickly explained. "I mean this is easy to solve."

"Really? How?" Evelyn asked, surprised.

"Many large corporations have charitable funds for such patients. They allocate money to charity each year. I can set up a fund for patients in financial difficulty who urgently need surgery. The surgery fees can come from this fund."

Evelyn thought it made sense and sighed, realizing she hadn't considered setting up a charity fund to help more people.

But she was concerned. "Is this really feasible? Won't the money run out?"

She wanted something sustainable, not just a short-term solution.

"Don't worry. The money in such a fund won't decrease. There will be people managing it, and the principal will be invested. Usually, the interest alone covers the fund's expenses."

They were targeting low-income families who urgently needed surgery, with certain review requirements, not just anyone.
