Chapter 747 Alert!

Evelyn wanted to tell Joshua that it hurt, but at this moment, she didn't have time to feel the pain. She asked, "What are you doing here?"
She had thought it might be Aidan or even Dermot who would show up here, but she never expected it to be Joshua, whom she hadn't seen in many years.
Joshua put her down and then squatted. "Let's not talk about this now. I'll carry you out."
Carrying her in his arms wasn't convenient, so he thought it would be easier to carry her on his back.
"No, no need. Just hold my hand," she said. Although they had grown up together as childhood friends, after so many years, there was some awkwardness.
"Evelyn, don't waste time. You don't want us to die here, do you?" Joshua didn't stand up and continued to squat in front of Evelyn.
Upon seeing this, Evelyn considered that the mercenaries might still be searching nearby. The longer they stayed here, the more dangerous they would be , so she finally let Joshua carry her out.
Joshua's familiar woody scent, just like before, gave Evelyn an inexplicable sense of comfort.
Perhaps because she felt completely at ease, Evelyn leaned on Joshua's back and unknowingly passed out.
She had lost too much blood and was too exhausted. If she hadn't been holding on tightly, she wouldn't have lasted this long.
As Joshua carried Evelyn away, he messaged Aidan to come and assist.
Before long, Aidan arrived with his team and found that Evelyn had already passed out.
"I'll carry her," Aidan said.
But Joshua didn't put her down and instead said, "Arrange for a hospital, don't waste time."
Aidan glanced at him and then quickly left to make the call.
Joshua was brought back by Aidan, and Aidan had his reasons for doing so.
Since he had decided to bring Joshua and Evelyn together, Aidan knew he had to create opportunities for them, even though he was reluctant. As he thought of Dermot, he finally made up his mind.
From his perspective, no matter what, Joshua was a hundred times better than Dermot.
Aidan and his team exited the mountain without encountering the mercenaries. Aidan guessed that the mercenaries decided to retreat because of their appearance.
Just as they stepped onto the road and were about to get Evelyn into the car, several vehicles suddenly approached.
"Alert!" Aidan shouted immediately, and everyone surrounded Joshua and Evelyn.
They thought the mercenaries were still around so everyone was extremely tense.
But soon, someone got out of the cars. It wasn't the mercenaries but Dermot.
Through the crowd, Dermot saw Evelyn on Joshua's back, covered in blood.
At that moment, his heart felt as if it had been pierced, the pain reaching his very core.
He looked away and met Joshua's gaze.
Their eyes locked, neither willing to back down, but it was clear that Joshua was the victor.
Dermot looked away and said to Aidan, "The ambulance from Golombia Hospital is on its way."
As he finished speaking, the sound of the ambulance siren arouse, and it stopped in front of them.
Aidan frowned because he didn't trust Dermot.
"Stop the bleeding for Evelyn first," Joshua said. Although he didn't like Dermot either, he could see from Dermot's eyes that he deeply loved Evelyn and probably wouldn't harm her.
Aidan glanced at Evelyn's pale face, knowing she had lost too much blood and couldn't afford to waste any time.
"Okay," he nodded, and the group dispersed. Joshua carried Evelyn into the ambulance, then they disappeared from their sight.
