Chapter 1321: Wishing You Happiness
Craig downed his drink and shot Aidan a nasty look. "How she's doing ain't your business. This mess is on you. Don't act all nice now."
Craig had zero love for Aidan.
"Just a heads-up, man. She's part of the Irvine family. You really gonna sit back and do nothing?" Aidan was ticked off. He couldn't wrap his head around how Phoebe's situation was his fault.
Sure, the baby might be his, but it's not like he got Phoebe pregnant on purpose. How was that on him?
But Aidan wasn't about to explain himself. Whatever, Phoebe was Craig's sister. What did that have to do with him?
He got up and bailed, not wasting more breath on Craig.
Everyone had lunch at Evelyn and Dermot's new place, then bounced pretty quick. Everyone had their own stuff going on, and getting together again wouldn't be easy.
After Evelyn tied the knot, Ruby and Alex, and Niall and Lily, were also planning to get hitched.
They'd been thinking about it for a while but wanted to wait until Evelyn got married. Now that she was, they didn't waste any time.
After the wedding, Evelyn and Dermot saw Henry and Jacob off at the airport.
"Grandpa, Dermot and I will come back to see you soon," Evelyn told Henry.
Then she turned to Jacob. "Uncle Jacob, thanks for coming to my wedding."
Even though only Jacob showed up, Evelyn was stoked.
To Evelyn, Jacob being there was like having her grandpa there, representing the Morgans family. She believed her grandpa could see it from heaven.
"Evelyn, seeing you happy now, I don't worry about you anymore. If anyone messes with you, promise you'll tell me. I might not have much, but I was strong." At the very least, he could give Dermot a good scare; he couldn't stand seeing Evelyn hurt.
Evelyn's eyes got misty, and she smiled and nodded. "Uncle Jacob, don't worry. If anyone tries to mess with me, I'll let you know."
Later, Henry and Jacob headed into the airport. Since they were both going back to Moris City, Evelyn set it up so they could travel together and look out for each other.
Watching them disappear, Evelyn felt a bit down.
Dermot pulled her close and comforted her, "It's okay. If you miss them, we can go back anytime."
"Yeah, I know." Evelyn nodded.
After the plane took off, Evelyn and Dermot left the airport.
They planned to work for a few days, sort out their stuff, and then kick off their honeymoon, which they'd planned before the wedding. They didn't want to miss it.
As soon as Evelyn got to the hospital, she got a package. She opened it and was floored.
The package was from overseas, with a diamond and a letter inside.
[Evelyn, I heard you and Dermot got married. I'm really sorry I couldn't be there. I get that my presence might not have been welcome, so I stayed away. I'm not sure if you've forgiven me, and I don't dare to hope for it. It's cool; I won't bother you anymore. I truly hope Dermot treats you right. If he ever doesn't, no matter how you feel about me, I'll step in. Evelyn, I wish you nothing but happiness.]
It was a gift and letter from Joshua. Evelyn felt all sorts of things reading it.
If it weren't for all the stuff that went down before, she would've been happy for Joshua to be at her wedding.
But sadly, there were no "ifs."
