Chapter 451 Are You Waiting For Me to Raise You?
He did blame Natalie to some extent. If it wasn't for her persuading him, he wouldn't have sold his shares in the Stanley Group. And even if he did sell them, the money wouldn't have been squandered, and they wouldn't have ended up living in this kind of place.
Natalie could sense the blame, coming through clearly, in his words, and her face turned ugly. "What? Are you blaming me?"
"I don't mean it that way." Oliver sat down on the sofa, suddenly realizing that Natalie wasn't as good as he had thought before. But he still loved her, so he didn't voice these thoughts and just complained a bit.
"Look at yourself now. What's the difference between you and a useless person?" Natalie had no intention of being polite to him. She had long been dissatisfied with him.
"Why don't you find a job and earn some money? Do you expect me to support you?" Natalie yelled at him, filled with regret for marrying such a person.
Oliver felt anger, in his heart, too and couldn't help but say, "You want me to find a job? I won't!"
"Do you want to live like this forever? Relying on me to support you?" Natalie asked, her anger showing no signs of subsiding.
Oliver didn't respond. After all, he couldn't go to work. If he were to, his former friends would think he a was a laughing stock. Anyway, he had a way out. Even though he had sold his shares, his father had not.
At worst, he could return to the Stanley family Doyal Mansion. He would never have to work. As for why he was living with Natalie now, it was mainly because he couldn't bring himself to go back. He was waiting for Mr. Li to make the first move.
When he remained silent, Natalie gave him a forceful push. "Are you even a man? A real man should take responsibility."
"I won't go!" Oliver repeated those words.
"Divorce! I want a divorce! " Natalie was so angered by him that she felt continuing like this was meaningless. It would be better to divorce, who knows, she might even find a better option.
When he this, Oliver surprisingly didn't feel any sadness, but rather a sense of relief. "You said it yourself, if you want a divorce, then let's get a divorce."
"You've been wanting a divorce all along, haven't you?" Natalie couldn't force a smile. She thought Oliver would lower his head, apologize, and beg her not to leave, but she never expected this to be his reaction.
Oliver shrugged, not taking it seriously. "It was you who wanted a divorce, not me."
"Worthless man!" Natalie couldn't help but curse. Oliver had clearly wanted a divorce a long time ago, yet he refused to speak up and instead waited for her to do it, so he could shift all the blame onto her.
Worthless! If she had known it would turn out like this, she never should have married him in the first place. Oliver let her curse, as if he no longer felt anything. He didn't argue back, nor did he feel sad.
At the hospital, Evelyn finished her busy day and was walking towards the door when she was stopped by the front desk. "Dr. Kyte, there's a letter for you."
Evelyn was surprised and walked over to retrieve it. She opened the envelope and realized it was an invitation.
"60th Anniversary Celebration of Morris City University Medical School."
It turned out to be the 60th anniversary of her alma mater, and they specifically sent invitations to their outstanding graduates, inviting them to return for the celebration.
Although she had only spent her undergraduate years at Morris City University, she had pleasant memories of her studies there, so she decided to make a trip back for the event. As she walked toward the door with the invitation in hand, she suddenly noticed that Dermot was already waiting there, though she didn't know when he had arrived.
"Would you like to have dinner?" The man smiled as he saw her, seeming to be in a good mood.
And indeed, he was. After resolving the matter with Benjamin and explaining things to Evelyn, he felt that what he needed to do now was display enough sincerity to make Evelyn feel that he truly was sorry.
