Chapter 342 Scumbag
In the end, Robert's chair didn't hit John because Evelyn intervened just in time, kicking him away.
Giving Robert a cold look, she then turned her gaze to John, slightly angry. "Why didn't you dodge?"
"Sis, I..."
"Do you think you can wash your hands of him by returning this life to him? Do you think he would feel guilty after killing you?" Evelyn stared at him angrily, feeling inexplicably annoyed.
How could there be such a foolish child?
What would he gain by letting Robert kill him with a chair? Isn't it better to stay alive?
John lowered his head, unable to speak. He didn't dare to look into Evelyn's eyes.
Evelyn sighed, not really wanting to scold him. She just felt sorry for him. "Don't do such foolish things in the future. Your life is your own, and it's more important than anything else."
"Yeah, I understand."
"John nodded. He didn't really want to die, but in this situation, he didn't know how to free himself from Robert. He had a feeling that Robert would follow him for the rest of his life.
Just thinking about this made him feel miserable.
Seeing that he seemed to have taken it seriously, Evelyn didn't say anything further. Instead, she walked in front of Robert, looking down at him with a superior attitude. “Just because he is your biological son doesn't mean you can beat and scold him.”
“You bitch…”
Robert didn't even get a chance to finish his sentence before the pain overwhelmed him. Evelyn's high heels pressed on his face, her expression cold. 'Watch your words. So many people are watching.'
Gritting his teeth, Robert looked around, hoping someone would step forward to help him.
However, no one did.
Nobody was stupid. After hearing what John had just said, they all knew what kind of person he was. It was already remarkable that they didn't come forward to hit him.
“Will you still bother John in the future?” Evelyn asked, exerting more pressure with her high heels, distorting Robert's face.
“He is my son. What's it to you if I look for my son?” he refused to yield.
Evelyn chuckled lightly, realizing that she had been too gentle. She continued to press her foot down, gradually crouching down and whispering into Robert's ear, 'Do you know who arranged for John to go to that school?'
“Dermot helped,” he answered.
Evelyn didn't expect him to respond. 'You should know what kind of person he is. Let him know that you're causing trouble for John, and he won't be as gentle as I am.'
Though Evelyn wanted to give him a beating, there were too many people watching, including reporters. She couldn't go too far. If this got out, it would not only affect the hospital but also John.
Dermot?
Upon hearing this name, Robert's face became even worse. He couldn't understand how his own disobedient son had gotten involved with Dermot.
'Will you still bother John?' Evelyn asked again, needing to hear it from his own mouth before feeling reassured.
Robert seemed to have suddenly come to a realization and quickly shook his head. “...I won't.”
“Really?”
“Really, I swear!” Robert nodded.
Although Evelyn still didn't fully trust his words, she couldn't do anything about him now. She couldn't send him to jail either; he hadn't committed any crimes.
She already had other plans in mind. So, Evelyn withdrew her foot, warning him, 'You better keep your word, or I'll make you know what it's like to suffer!'
After dealing with Robert, Evelyn turned and walked toward the reporter, smiling warmly at her. “How should this be reported? I believe as a journalist, you know what to do, right? I trust that you'll report the truth.”
