Chapter 1129: The Fight Broke Out

Aidan showing up wasn't about fixing anything; he figured this whole mess was Phoebe's problem, not his.

He shot a look at Craig and said, "Dude, you know what's up with Phoebe and me. If you were me, would you marry a chick like that?"

Craig snapped back, "What are you saying? She wouldn't be pregnant if you didn't sleep with her, right?" He was ticked off by Aidan's attitude.

Aidan didn't want to argue and just said, "If the kid's mine, she needs to get an abortion. I'm not dealing with it. If it's not mine..."

He smirked, "She better stay the hell away from me."

With that, Aidan got up to leave, not wanting to waste another second on Craig.

No wonder Phoebe kept bugging him; seemed like everyone in the Irvine family was just nuts.

But before Aidan could reach the door, Craig lost it and punched him to the ground. "You jerk! Who do you think you are? How dare you diss my sister? I'm gonna beat you to a pulp!"

Craig had grown up with Dermot. He wasn't as good, but he knew enough. Aidan, on the other hand, had only trained with Evelyn for a few days, so he was getting his ass handed to him by Craig.

Later, an ambulance took Aidan away, and a police car took Craig.

Evelyn and Dermot got the call right after their steamy session. They were both shocked by the news.

Hanging up, Evelyn asked, "Is it about Craig?"

"Aidan's mess?" Dermot replied.

They shared a wry smile, both kinda speechless. "What are those two up to now?"

Dermot pulled her close, burying his face in her neck and taking in her scent. "What else? It's probably about Phoebe."

Evelyn pushed him away. "I thought this was sorted out. How did it come to blows?"

"Craig wouldn't let Phoebe raise the baby alone. He acts tough, but he cares about her and wants her to have a good ending," Dermot explained.

Evelyn frowned, feeling a headache coming on. "But Phoebe's set on raising the baby herself. I talked to her last time and stopped trying to convince her to get an abortion. I think she can handle it."

"Exactly, no one's really at fault. Craig just cares about his sister." As for Aidan, Dermot couldn't blame him either. If it were him, he wouldn't marry Phoebe either.

Seeing Evelyn's troubled look, Dermot felt bad for her and hugged her again. "Don't worry. We'll head back tomorrow and sort it out."

"Okay." Evelyn agreed; they really should go back.

Even though the hospital hadn't called her back to work yet, she couldn't just sit around. Plus, with the drama between Craig and Aidan, she needed to go back and see what was up.

But she felt a bit guilty toward Dermot. "If there's somewhere else you want to go, we can do that first."

"It doesn't matter. For me, the place isn't important; what's important is being with you." Dermot smiled, his voice smooth and super attractive.

Evelyn turned over and snuggled into his arms again.
