Chapter 311 He must be in pain too
The hospital was bustling with activity on a busy workday.
Evelyn had already performed two surgeries in the morning and was feeling a bit tired by noon. Just as she sat down in her office, Niall's phone call came.
"Niall." Evelyn answered the call. "Did you find out?"
"Yeah, you asked me to check Lauren Stanley's schedule. I've already found out and sent it to your email." Niall said, although he didn't know what Evelyn was up to, he didn't ask further.
"Okay, thank you Niall." Evelyn thanked him, feeling grateful for having someone to help, at least she wouldn't have to work so hard.
At this thought, she couldn't help but think of Aidan.
After hesitating for a moment, she couldn't hold back and asked, "Niall, has Aidan been in contact with you recently?"
"Yes." Niall answered and then asked, "Hasn't he been in contact with you for so long?"
Evelyn smiled bitterly, feeling indescribably sour in her heart. "Other than the first day when he messaged me to say he arrived safely, he hasn't contacted me again."
It wasn't that she didn't want to contact Aidan, but she didn't dare. She was afraid that if she made a phone call, it would affect Aidan's heart.
So she had to deliberately keep her distance and wait for the day when Aidan could open up.
Niall on the other end of the phone fell silent. After going through so much, he was no longer as innocent as before.
"Evelyn, don't blame Aidan, he must be in pain too." After a long time, Niall spoke to comfort her.
He knew how much Aidan cared about Evelyn. If it wasn't for unavoidable circumstances, how could he resist contacting her?
In the end, it was because he was afraid that once they made contact, things would become uncontrollable.
Evelyn's eyes felt a bit sore. How could she blame Aidan? She didn't even have the time to be upset. "I don't blame him, I'm just worried that he's not doing well alone in a foreign country."
"Don't worry, Aidan is much stronger than both of us. He's doing well abroad, the subsidiary has been established and everything is on track." Aidan didn't contact Evelyn, but they still had a connection, so Niall knew quite a bit.
Upon hearing this, Evelyn also felt relieved. "That's good."
"No need to worry too much, Aidan is a capable person. Plus, he has a good foundation in the business world." Niall assured her.
Evelyn couldn't help but smile. "Thank you, Niall."
"You're welcome. If there's anything else you need, just let me know." Niall said kindly.
"Alright, I will. Thanks again." Evelyn hung up the phone and couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth. Despite everything that had happened, she was grateful for Niall's presence in her life.
"Niall said, 'Next time, Evelyn, Aidan will be back.'"
After hanging up the phone, Evelyn took a deep breath, composed herself, and opened her email. Inside, she found the itinerary that Niall had sent, detailing Lauren Stanley's schedule.
Lauren Stanley is Oliver's sister, the unknown lady of the Stanley family.
At the end of the afternoon, instead of going straight home, Evelyn changed her clothes and headed straight to the gym where Lauren Stanley often went.
According to the information provided by Niall, Lauren Stanley would come to this gym every day after work, without interruption, for almost ten years.
From this alone, Evelyn thought that she was someone who could persist and be patient. But can such a person truly lack any ambition?
Evelyn didn't believe it.
When Evelyn arrived at the gym, she immediately spotted Lauren Stanley already working out.

"Miss, would you like to get a gym membership?" a personal trainer approached and greeted Evelyn, who shifted her gaze towards him.
After thinking for a moment, Evelyn said, "I don't need a membership, but I have something I'd like to ask you."
She took out some hundred-dollar bills from her bag and handed them over.
The trainer accepted them with a smile and said, "If you have any questions, I promise to tell you everything I know."
"Do you know who this woman has the best relationship with in your gym?" Evelyn always understood the importance of knowing one's enemy.
