Chapter 797 Just Say It
Evelyn didn't know Blake's thinking. If she did, she would be speechless.
"Dad, have a seat with Joshua. I'll go into the kitchen," Evelyn said.
Blake had just been discharged from the hospital, so she needed to remind the kitchen staff not to make overly spicy dishes.
He nodded, as he wanted to have a private chat with Joshua.
Once Evelyn left, Blake looked at Joshua with a smile, then asked, "Joshua, I heard you just came back from abroad. What's your plan? Are you planning to go back?"
"Mr. Kyte, I'm not going to leave this time," Joshua replied with a respectful tone.
The more Blake looked at him, the more satisfied he became. He said with a smile, "I've lived long enough to perceive that you have feelings for Evelyn. Am I right?"
"Mr. Kyte, you have a keen eye." Joshua did not deny it. Given how attentive he was to Evelyn, Blake would have to be blind not to notice.
As Blake heard his admission, he smiled even more widely, "I have no objections to you. As long as she likes you, I'm not gonna say no."
"You can rest assured, Mr. Kyte. I will do my best," Joshua said confidently.
"Actually, I want to tell you something, Mr. Kyte." He became serious.
Blake nodded. "What is it? Just say it."
"After this, are you going to let Evelyn take over the Kyte Group?" Joshua asked. He had noticed that Blake was preparing for it over the past few days.
Blake wasn't surprised that he could see it and admitted, "Yes, in a few days, I plan to host a banquet to announce Evelyn's takeover of the Kyte Group officially. As for me, I have my own things to do."
The near-death experience made him decide to do what he had always wanted to do while he still had the energy. Otherwise, he would live with regret for the rest of his life.
"In that case, I'll be straightforward with you. I want to join the Kyte Group," Joshua said directly.
Blake was stunned by this request; he hadn't expected Joshua to ask for this.
Before he could respond, Joshua took out some documents. "These are my diplomas and my work experience over the years. I can't say I'm exceptional, but I should be qualified to join the Kyte Group."
He took the documents and looked through them. He had to admit, Joshua was much more impressive than he had imagined.
He hadn't expected Joshua to be so capable. Even if Joshua had achieved nothing, as long as Evelyn liked him, Blake would have accepted him. But now, with Joshua's extraordinary capability, he was more than happy and had no reason to refuse.
He looked at Joshua and handed the documents back to him. "Can I ask why? You don't need to pursue Evelyn in this way. In fact, you should know that Evelyn isn't interested in the Kyte Group. Conversely, you might have less time to be with her when you join."
"I know. Actually, I just want to manage the Kyte Group well for her, so she can do what she loves," Joshua said with a smile. This was his heartfelt thought.

To be willing to go to such lengths for Evelyn, he couldn't imagine how deep Joshua's feelings for her were.
Joshua said earnestly, "Mr. Kyte, I know Evelyn is all you think about. I can assure you that as long as I'm around, nothing will happen to her."

Despite his words, Blake knew that his main reason was still Evelyn.
