Chapter 321 Shady Man
The next day, after meeting Grandpa Doyle at Doyal Mansion, Evelyn and Dermot went their separate ways and busied themselves with their own activities. Although they had officially become a couple, it didn't seem to make much difference to Evelyn.
"Dr. Kyte, I've been having frequent headaches lately. Can you help me take a look?" A figure pushed open the office door, and a familiar voice came through.
Evelyn was about to suggest that the person go to the outpatient clinic for registration, as she was only in charge of surgeries and hadn't started seeing patients in the clinic yet. But when she looked up, she realized she knew the person who had come in.
She closed the medical record and watched him sit down in front of her. "So, Dr. Kyte, have you figured out what's wrong with me?"
"I'm a doctor, not a miracle worker," Evelyn replied without a hint of patience. If she could diagnose just by casting a casual glance, it would render the hospital's need for a CT scanner unnecessary, and she could be assigned to solely treat patients.
Moreover, no matter how she looked at the person before her, he didn't appear to be sick at all.
"Dr. Kyte, you're joking. Nowadays, everyone in Moris City knows about your impressive medical skills. It's not an exaggeration to call you a miracle worker," the person said with a smile.
Evelyn had no intention of continuing the banter and asked directly, "What are you here for? Didn't you go back to Colombia?"
The person was Greg, and their relationship could only be considered as acquaintances to Evelyn. He was nothing more than a passing acquaintance.
"I came back to Moris City because I missed you and wanted to see you," Greg raised an eyebrow at her, his gaze filled with affection as if he wanted to stay fixated on Evelyn.
Evelyn couldn't help but shudder, goosebumps crawling up her skin uncontrollably. "Watch your words. If you continue like this, don't blame me for kicking you out."
After not seeing each other for some time, Greg had become even more slimy than before, making her extremely uncomfortable.
She couldn't understand why a good-looking guy like him would behave so greasily.
"Please, please." Greg quickly waved his hand, returning to normal.
He cleared his throat twice in an attempt to ease the awkwardness. "Are you free tonight? Let me treat you to dinner."
"No, I'm not available," Evelyn rejected directly. "What's the matter anyway? Just say it."
"Well, there's nothing much, I just came all the way to Moris City to find you," Greg smiled, not seeming like he was joking, surprising Evelyn a bit.
After giving him a few glances, she finally asked, "What do you want from me?"
"After returning to Colombia and thinking about it carefully, I still believe that you are the most special girl I've ever met, so..." He looked straight at Evelyn, "So, I've decided to pursue and win you over!"
Evelyn coldly chuckled twice, showing no reaction to his words. "You're too late. I already have a boyfriend."
As soon as these words came out, Greg who was still standing there, and asked her, "Isn't he your ex-husband? Are you planning on going back to him?"
Dermot had already investigated Evelyn's relationship with him, so he knew everything very clearly.
"After thinking it over, I realized that going back to him isn't so bad," Evelyn forced a smile. Truth be told, when she had previously said she wouldn't go back to him, she never expected that she would reconcile with Dermot.
This was probably what they meant by not being too absolute with one's words. After all, getting proven wrong did hurt a bit.
