Chapter 800 Are You Interested in Her Too?
"I don't plan on that for now," Dermot answered honestly. After all, they had only been dating for a short time, and marriage seemed a bit too fast.
"The Martin family and the Doyle family are a good match. If you think it's about time, you should settle the marriage soon," Randy said.
He nodded, wondering what Randy's true intentions were. "Don't worry. I'll take it as it comes."
Randy didn't say more and turned to Otis and Jeffery, scolding, "What about you two? When do you plan to get married?"
"Grandpa, I haven't even found a girlfriend yet. How can I get married?" Jeffery pouted, thinking the question was absurd.
Randy ignored him and looked at Otis. After all, Otis was the oldest one and was of marriageable age.
Otis put down the fork and said seriously, "Grandpa, what do you think of Evelyn from the Kyte family?"
The atmosphere at the dining table changed slightly.
Jeffery sneaked a glance at Dermot, and sure enough, his face looked unpleasant.
Everyone at the table knew about Evelyn and Dermot's relationship. They all wondered why Otis would bring up Evelyn now.
Randy didn't care about their thoughts and, after some thought, said, "I've met Evelyn. She's got some guts. Given Blake's situation, it's likely he'll soon hand over the Kyte family to her. She'll be one of the first among your peers to take over a family business."
Even though the Doyle family was the top of the ten families, once Evelyn took over the Kyte family, her influence would far exceed that of the Doyle family descendants.
For now, they all had to follow Randy's orders. Although he was their grandfather, it wasn't as free as having power in their own hands.
"Yes, I think so too." Otis nodded, a glint flashing in his eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses. "So, Grandpa, do you think she is qualified to marry me?"
If anyone had been guessing that Otis had an interest, now it was clear. He said it openly without caring about Dermot's feelings.
Of course, it didn't matter now since Dermot and Evelyn were already divorced.
"Are you interested in her?" Randy's eyes darkened.
"A bit. I think she's quite capable. If she were to marry me, she would barely be a match." The reason he said "barely" was because the Kyte family wasn't very strong among the ten families, only slightly better than the fallen Roberts family.
It was only because Evelyn was about to take over the Kyte family that he was interested. Otherwise, he wouldn't have considered her at all.
After all, there's a big difference between being a Kyte family daughter and the president of the Kyte Group.
Dermot hadn't said anything when he heard it, but Jeffery couldn't hold back. "Otis, you're so materialistic. You weren't interested in her before she was going to take over the Kyte family, but now, are you? Your intentions are too obvious."
Otis turned his head and glanced at him. "What? Do you have a problem with that? Or are you interested in her too?"
Jeffery was no match for him and could only stare back speechlessly.
"Jeffery certainly isn't interested in her. He just thinks Otis is being too realistic, which is despicable," Melissa couldn't stand seeing her brother being wronged and naturally spoke up for him.
Otis sneered, not taking it to heart. "Despicable? I think it's fine. Everything is for our family. Grandpa, what do you think?"
