Chapter 744 Be Careful in the Next Life
The sky gradually darkened. Evelyn knew that continuing running was very disadvantageous for her. She might not be able to escape this forest today.

"Lady, you're really impressive," said one of the mercenaries, David, with his golden hair.
Evelyn stared at him. She was aware of that this man was probably their leader. "How much did the Roberts family pay you?"
Mercenaries worked for money, and Evelyn was well aware of that.
The reason she mentioned the Roberts family was because she knew that Dora might have instigated the Roberts family to act against her, but the ones who actually hired these people were definitely the Roberts family. Dora didn't have the resources to pay so much money or to bring these people into the country quietly.
David didn't speak, just held up one finger.
"One million dollars?" Evelyn asked.
The man shook his head and smiled faintly. "We are internationally renowned mercenaries. One million dollars isn't even enough for our appearance fee."
"One hundred million dollars?" Evelyn couldn't believe the number she just said.
Although one hundred million dollars wasn't a big deal for the Roberts family, it would still have some impact if they had to come up with that much money all at once.
David nodded, confirming the amount.
David didn't mind telling Evelyn this information. To him, Evelyn was as good as dead, and telling a dead person didn't count as revealing the employer's information.
Evelyn immediately sensed something was off. She looked at David and asked, "I don't think the Roberts family would spend one hundred million dollars just to kill me. They must have other demands, right?"
The Roberts family hated her, but Evelyn knew that in their eyes, she wasn't worth one hundred million dollars, nor was she worth the effort to bring people in from abroad.
"You're really smart," David didn't deny it.
Evelyn's heart sank. The Roberts family bringing these people into the country definitely had a big conspiracy, probably targeting other members of the top ten families.
She thought, 'Maybe Blake is also part of their plan.
'If something happen to the leaders of the top ten families all at once, it will give the Roberts family enough time to do many things.
'The Roberts family's ambition is indeed not small.'
"I can offer double," Evelyn said calmly.
David didn't show any greed at her words, just said helplessly, "I'm sorry, although I'd love to take more money, if I did that, no one would dare to hire us in the future."
He had checked Evelyn's background. Evelyn could indeed come up with that much money. After all, she was Blake's daughter. The Kyte family would likely be willing to pay two hundred million dollars to save her.
"Is there really no room for negotiation?" Evelyn asked, but she was thinking about how to change the current situation.
David shook his head, raised his gun, and aimed at Evelyn. "Goodbye, be more careful in your next life."
With that, David pulled the trigger.
