Chapter 943: No Matter What It Is, I Love It

After an hour of shopping, Evelyn and Ruby were wiped out. They decided to head home.

Todd had already brought the car for Dermot, so Evelyn rode back with him. She wanted Dermot to give Ruby a ride too, but he declined.

Evelyn got it; Dermot was just giving Craig a chance.

She looked at Ruby, respecting her choice.

"You guys go ahead. It's fine if he gives me a ride," Ruby said casually. Riding with Craig wasn't a big deal.

Evelyn didn't push it. Everyone has their own thoughts. Even though Ruby was her good friend, she couldn't meddle too much.

Dermot's car started and left. After they were gone, Ruby turned to Craig. "I'll just take a cab. I don't want to trouble you."

She still didn't want to get too involved with Craig.

"Ruby, do you really have to be like this?" Craig frowned. They had a rough morning, and now it was the same in the evening. Her attitude hadn't changed.

Ruby looked at him calmly. "Craig, I thought I made myself clear. Why won't you let me go?"

She didn't want any more drama with Craig.

Even if Craig had changed, even if he promised to marry her, Ruby didn't care anymore.

She realized she didn't like Craig that much anymore.

"Let you go? Who's going to let me go?" he muttered.

He didn't want to be so humble, nor did he want Ruby to hate him, but he couldn't forget her.

Ruby sighed. "You can let yourself go. Think about it. You don't like me that much; it's just that losing control makes you uncomfortable."

"That's not it."

"Craig, I'm not looking for a relationship right now. My focus is on work and growing the Kite Group. Could you please respect that and not disrupt me?" she said sincerely.

Craig, though unwilling, nodded. "Okay, I won't talk about feelings."

"Thank you," Ruby said.

"Then can we be business partners?" Craig asked right after.

Ruby was silent.

"The Irvine Group is interested in the project you're in charge of. How about a collaboration?" Craig smiled.

Ruby was speechless. She needed a partner, and the Irvine Group was perfect, but she didn't want more drama with Craig.

Sensing her hesitation, Craig added, "Since we're not talking about feelings, let's be rational. Collaborating with the Irvine Group is the best choice for the Kite Group."

Ruby looked at him and saw no emotion. He seemed all business now.

"Okay," Ruby agreed. Maybe just talking business was better for them.

Meanwhile, Evelyn and Dermot had reached their doorsteps.

"By the way, I got this for you," Evelyn said, opening the door. She remembered seeing something perfect for Dermot while shopping and bought it.

When she handed over the gift box, Dermot's smile was bright. "Thank you, I love it."

"You haven't even opened it," Evelyn said, rolling her eyes.

"No matter what it is, I love it," he said, then opened the gift box.
