Chapter 315 I have something to tell you
After the conversation with Lauren Stanley, Evelyn walked out of the gym and was about to hail a taxi when Dermot's car conveniently pulled up in front of her.
"Finished talking?" The man rolled down the car window and asked Evelyn on the roadside.
Evelyn nodded, then realized, "When did you arrive? No, how did you know I was here?"
She didn't mention to Dermot that she was going to meet Lauren Stanley today, let alone where they would meet.
"I just found out that you were with her when I was looking for her," Dermot unexpectedly said. He had planned to investigate Lauren Stanley in advance for Evelyn, but he didn't expect her to take action so quickly.
Evelyn didn't question further. Even if Dermot hadn't been keeping tabs on her, she believed that he had her safety in mind.
But when did she start trusting him so much?
Dermot opened the car door for her, and Evelyn got in without asking where they were going.
"How was your conversation with her?" The man casually asked as he drove.
Evelyn nodded, "Just as I suspected, she is an ambitious person. She didn't have the opportunity before, but now that it's presented to her, she has no reason to refuse."
Dermot wasn't surprised by this outcome, not because he knew Lauren Stanley well, but because he knew Evelyn. There was nothing she couldn't achieve when she set her mind to it, so from the beginning, Dermot never doubted her ability to succeed.
He just felt that if he could help, it would reduce her burden.
The car didn't drive towards Barberts Apartment, and Evelyn finally asked, "Where are we going?"
"For dinner," Dermot answered.
"Not eating at home?" She thought Dermot would go back and cook as usual.
The man shook his head, but didn't specify where they were going.
As the car moved further away from the city center, Evelyn's curiosity was gradually piqued. It seemed that the place they were going to eat today was not ordinary.
After more than ten minutes, the car stopped.
It was only after Evelyn got out of the car that she realized they were in a mansion, surrounded by lush trees, giving off an air of a hidden paradise.
"We're eating here?" Evelyn asked the man next to her, full of curiosity. She couldn't see this place as just a restaurant for a meal.
Dermot led her inside, and a servant approached them. "Mr. Dermot."
"Yes, is everything arranged?" Dermot asked.
"It's all arranged," the servant replied, then gestured for them to follow him.
It wasn't until now that Dermot explained to her, "I bought this place years ago. It's a private mansion where I occasionally-"
"Regarding the residence, it is just that it is quite far from the company, so I haven't been staying here often."
"Oh." Evelyn nodded, thinking that this place didn't seem like a restaurant.
But...
If he hasn't been staying here often, why did he suddenly think of bringing her here today?
Before she could ask, the servant had already brought them to the restaurant. It was at this moment that Evelyn realized she had underestimated the enormity of this mansion.
The restaurant alone was as big as a hotel lobby.
On the long table not far away, there were steak and red wine, as well as candles and flowers...
Evelyn felt that something was off about this scene, but... she looked at Dermot, who had no unusual expression on his face, which made her doubt if she was overthinking.
"Evey, please sit." Dermot smiled at her and took a seat opposite her.
After Evelyn sat down, Dermot dismissed the servant and said, "Evey, the reason I brought you here today is because I have something to tell you."
