Chapter 329 Are You Really Willing to Cause Harm?

Before opening the door, Evelyn didn't expect to witness such an exciting scene. If it weren't for her worrying that something might happen to Emily if she ran out so late at night, making it difficult to explain to her uncle, she wouldn't have wanted to open the door at all.

But now, it seemed worth it.

"Evey, let me explain." Dermot opened his mouth, not caring if he might harm Emily, and pushed her away with all his strength.

Dermot walked quickly towards Evelyn, wishing he could kill Emily. "It's not what you think. I have no interest in her. She threw herself at me."

Evelyn didn't say anything. She glanced at Emily, who was pushed to the ground, and said, "What are you doing lying on the ground? Do you find yourself embarrassing enough?"

Emily got up from the ground, biting her lip, but didn't leave. "Aidan, I know you said that because you're afraid that Evelyn would misunderstand. But you actually like me, right?"

With a dark face, Dermot's eyes turned terrifying when he looked at Emily again. "If you dare to say another word, don't blame me for being rude!"

"Aidan..." Emily's words were cut off as Dermot lifted her up and pinned her against the wall, his gaze filled with ferocity. "You want to die, don't you? I'll grant your wish!"

His big hand choked Emily's neck, applying great force. Emily instantly had difficulty breathing and her face turned red.

She felt the threat of death and looked at Evelyn with pleading eyes. "...Evelyn, help..."

At that moment, she was genuinely afraid that Dermot would strangle her to death.

She was still so young. It would be such a waste if she died like this.

Evelyn stepped forward and patted Dermot's arm. "Let her go. Are you really willing to cause harm?"

"Evey, I and she..."

"I know. Do you really think I'm so foolish as to believe her words?" Evelyn didn't know what Dermot was afraid of. Did they really not have any trust between them?

Dermot released Emily, his expression complicated. "So, you believe me, right?"

"Evelyn nodded and looked at him solemnly, saying, 'I think we should trust each other more. Please don't always assume that I will misunderstand you. I'm not that foolish.'"

Emily knew what was on Evelyn's mind, so she didn't think what had just happened had anything to do with Dermot.

Moreover, she had confidence in herself and didn't think Dermot would be interested in Emily.

Dermot sighed in relief and said, "I was just too afraid."

"Alright, you go rest. Leave it to me," Evelyn said as she picked up Emily, preparing to go back, and persuaded Dermot to go back and rest early.

With the door closed again, Dermot stood in place, feeling somewhat frustrated.

What's wrong with me?

There's no reason to be so impulsive. Evelyn is such a smart person. How could she easily accuse me?

Dermot attributed all of this to his fear of losing Evelyn.

In the living room, Evelyn looked at the frightened Emily and chuckled, "What's wrong? Are you scared? I thought you were more capable."

"Dermot is a devil!" Emily curled up in the corner of the sofa, unable to control her fear just thinking about Dermot's expression earlier.

Sitting next to her, Evelyn kindly reminded her, "So, you shouldn't have any ideas about him. You and him have no chance."

Speaking of this, Emily seemed to calm down a bit. "You must be happy, right? You must be feeling very proud."

"What is there for me to be proud of?" Evelyn was helpless. She couldn't understand Emily's way of thinking.

"Now I have no chance with him, and you do. Aren't you happy?" Emily felt resentful, but she didn't have the courage to continue pursuing Dermot. She was afraid that one day she would really end up dead at his hands.
