Chapter 382 Not Normal
On Saturday, the Evelyna Fashion brand officially opened for business.
Early in the morning, Evelyn rushed to the company to prepare for the opening.
Sarah approached her and whispered, "Is Dermot coming?"
Evelyn froze. She actually called Dermot last night, but he seemed to be genuinely busy and couldn't even make it to the opening ceremony, which he had initially promised to attend.
She shook her head and said, "The Doyle Group is busy, so he can't come."
Upon hearing this, Sarah looked disappointed. It wasn't because she had feelings for Dermot; she just felt that if he didn't come, it wouldn't have the same promotional effect for Evelyna Fashion.
"It's okay, I believe in the charm of our brand." Sarah spoke, not sure if she was saying it to herself or to Evelyn.
After organizing things at the company, the two of them headed to the store. After all, the official opening ceremony was taking place there, and the models and clothes were already waiting.
When Evelyn and Sarah arrived, the employees were all busy, afraid of any oversights after the official opening.
"Evelyn, are you nervous? Your brand is about to face the test of consumers." Sarah smiled at her.
Evelyn shook her head, looking relaxed. "I'm not nervous. I have confidence in myself."
Looking at the neatly arranged clothes in the store, Evelyn couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. Today was a new beginning for Evelyna Fashion.
Evelyn was full of confidence and believed she would be recognized.
"You have such a great attitude. I'm a little nervous," Sarah admitted. It had been years since she had been in business, and she was uncertain about her abilities, fearing that she might disappoint Evelyn's expectations.
Encouraging her, Evelyn looked at Marina and said, "Sarah, don't be nervous. You have done a great job already. Believe in yourself, and trust me too."
Sarah nodded and whispered to Emily, who walked by, "Lately, your cousin has really changed her ways. She's been taking her work very seriously."
Surprised by Emily's busyness, Evelyn commented, "That's good. At least my uncle doesn't have to worry anymore."
"Yeah, let's hope she continues to keep it up," Sarah said.
Soon, the store was tidied up, and the auspicious time for the grand opening arrived. Evelyn and Sarah both stood by the store's entrance, ready.
Sarah had invited several reporters. Regardless of the situation, they had to maintain a good image.
"Thank you all for attending the grand opening ceremony of Evelyna Fashion. We hope for your continued support in the future, and Evelyna Fashion will certainly not disappoint you," Sarah addressed the crowd. There were already quite a few onlookers, as the mall itself was high-end and mostly visited by wealthy individuals. Naturally, they were all curious about this newly opened brand.
As Sarah spoke from her opening speech, Keith arrived without notice, standing between Sarah and Evelyn. He whispered, "Why hasn't Dermot shown up? Didn't he say he was coming?"
Hearing someone mention Dermot again, Evelyn felt annoyed. She had no idea how busy Dermot really was. He had backed out on previously agreed plans, yet every time she asked, he refused to give a detailed explanation, leaving her uncertain whether he was truly busy or just deceiving her.
In fact, it had been quite a while since she last saw Dermot. Recently, they seemed to only communicate through their phones. This thought made Evelyn feel a sense of panic.
This was not normal at all.
"I'm not sure. He said he's busy. Do you know what he's busy with?" Evelyn asked Keith subconsciously. She felt more comfortable asking him about Dermot now that their relationship had somewhat improved.
Frowning, Keith sensed something was off and replied, "I'm not sure, but it seems like nothing major is happening at the Doyle Group recently. He shouldn't be that busy."
As soon as he said that, he realized he had misspoken and quickly corrected himself, "But who knows? Maybe he's busy expanding the market, so he might be busier than usual."
