Chapter 901 If I Had Done Something Wrong
Niall hugged Lily tight and said, "Lily, how are you so amazing?"
"Am I really that great?" Lily asked, unsure. No one had ever told her that before.
"Absolutely. You're the best girl I've ever met," Niall said confidently. If it weren't so, why would he have fallen for her?
Lily wanted to say something but didn't have the courage. She whispered, "If you find out I've made mistakes in the past, will you forgive me?"
"What mistakes? They can't be that bad, and I don't care," Niall said. He loved the Lily he knew now, regardless of her past.
Whether Niall meant it or not, his words reassured Lily.
At least Niall truly loved her.
She looked up and kissed him, wanting to give him everything.
The next day, Evelyn went to Amelia's ward but found it empty.
She quickly asked the head nurse and learned that Alice and Amelia had been discharged the previous afternoon.
Evelyn was surprised. "Why did Amelia get discharged so quickly? I was supposed to handle it today."
"It seems they were in a hurry. They later went to see Dr. Newman, and Dr. Newman discharged them,," the nurse explained.
"Do you have their contact info?" Evelyn asked anxiously. She didn't want them to give up now.
"I only have Amelia's husband's number, but no one answered when I called." The nurse handed Evelyn the number.
Evelyn thanked her and called the number, but the phone was off.
She sighed and went back to her office.
She tried to comfort herself, thinking it was fate. But then she thought it was also fate that Amelia met her.
With that in mind, she made a decision.
Evelyn asked Jennifer to help find Amelia. Jennifer had more resources now, making it easier.
She could have asked Luke, but it wasn't as convenient. This was more Jennifer's area of expertise.
Evelyn spent the day anxiously waiting for news.
Luckily, she didn't have much to do. Her surgeries were scheduled for the next day, and Golombia Hospital had plenty of doctors who could handle brain surgeries. Taking a few days off wouldn't be a big deal.
At the end of the day, Evelyn got a call from Luke, asking her to check out a house. She didn't expect Jennifer to be the one taking her.
"Ms. Kyte, Mr. Doyle asked me to take you to see the house," Jennifer said, shaking the keys.
Evelyn nodded, puzzled. "Why did Luke ask you to come?"
Jennifer explained, "You asked me to look into Amelia this morning. I was planning to talk to you about it. Mr. Doyle knew, so he asked me to take you to see the house as well."
Evelyn sensed something. "You and Luke seem to get along well."
"Not bad," Jennifer blushed.
Evelyn laughed. "I get it. Luke is quite the catch."
