Chapter 919 Are You Sent by Evelyn?
"Really?" Trinity was doubtful, thinking Evelyn wouldn't be so kind.
Evelyn knew she didn't believe her, so she said directly, "I have no reason to lie. If you don't believe me, fine. It's not my problem if you suffer."
She just wanted to make Nolan's situation worse and ruin any chance he had of bouncing back, so she planned to target his company, too.
If Trinity didn't believe her and refused to sell Nolan's shares, Evelyn didn't care. It'd be a bit more work, but she wouldn't let Nolan's company survive.
"I'll sell!" Trinity wasn't dumb. Nolan was headed to jail, so she had to look out for herself.
Evelyn smiled, gave her a phone number, and left the police station. What Trinity did next wasn't her concern.
Outside, Luke was still with her, and Evelyn felt a bit awkward. "Thanks."
"Don't mention it. Sarah's my colleague." They didn't talk much, but they knew each other.
Evelyn didn't say more. After Luke drove her back, she let him return to work at the Darkmoon Group.
At the hospital, in Natalie's room.
Natalie lay in bed, unable to move, feeling worse by the day. Hubert ignored her, and she saw Evelyn thriving while she was stuck. The difference was too much to bear.
As she brooded, the door opened. Natalie couldn't see who it was but assumed it was Hubert. "Mr. Diaz, you came to see me. I knew you still cared. I know you're getting married, and I'm not worthy, but I truly love you. I've thought it over. Even without a title, I'm willing to stay by your side!"
She poured out her heart, hoping to sway Hubert, but it wasn't him.
Joshua stepped into view, his handsome face coming into focus.
Natalie was scared and tried to hide but couldn't. "Who are you?"
Before Joshua could answer, she remembered. "Did Evelyn send you? What does she want?"
"Don't flatter yourself. Evelyn doesn't care about you. I came on my own," Joshua said coldly, sending chills down her spine.
Natalie sensed danger. "Why would you want to see me? I don't even know you."
She only recalled seeing him around Evelyn but didn't know him.
"True, we don't know each other, and I don't have a reason to see you," Joshua chuckled, almost mocking himself.
But Natalie sensed a deeper meaning.
"If I remember correctly, when Eugene strapped a bomb to himself to kill Evelyn, it was your words that nearly got her killed, right?" Joshua's eyes were icy.
Even from a distance, Natalie felt his murderous intent.
She was terrified.
Swallowing hard, she asked, "What do you want?"
Joshua sneered, "Be glad I don't feel like killing right now. Otherwise, you'd be dead."
Natalie trembled, trying to press the call button but couldn't. "If you're not going to kill me, then why are you here?"
