Chapter 675: What's It to You?
Evelyn was taken aback by the words. She hadn't paid much attention to this for a while, and she didn't expect Dermot's arrangements to be so thorough.
Evelyn propped her chin with one hand and looked at Dermot. "Your approach shows full confidence in taking down the Doyle family."
If not, Dermot wouldn't have merged his efforts with Craig's.
It was clear that he wanted the Doyle family and was willing to give up on his previous company.
Of course, it wasn't all about giving up; after all, once the company merged under Craig, Craig would likely be considered a second-rate family in Columbia, which would somewhat benefit Dermot.
"Naturally." Dermot nodded. He wouldn't allow himself to fail in what he did.
Seeing Dermot so confident, Evelyn didn't ask much. After all, Dermot taking over the Doyle family didn't harm her in any way. "Alright, I agree."
The information Dermot provided still had its value. After all, it was just sharing a piece of the pie, and the requirements weren't too high.
After the discussion, the two fell into silence.
Evelyn felt a bit restless. "Should I leave now?"
"So hasty?" Dermot instinctively spoke, only to realize that what he said wasn't quite right.
Quickly changing the subject, Dermot asked, "You didn't seem to be in a good mood earlier because of Wade?"
Dermot meant the time when she came out of Wade's villa. At that time, she was indeed in a bad mood, and even now, it hadn't improved much.
"Yes." Evelyn nodded, not denying it.
"Because of him and Lucia? You don't want him to marry Lucia?" Dermot inquired, not sure why he wanted to know, but he just inexplicably wished to understand.
Evelyn sighed, "Of course, if he marries Lucia, it would ruin his life."
This statement didn't sit well with Dermot. Did that mean Wade's life wouldn't be ruined unless he married Evelyn?
"Wade and Lucia are willing. In the end, you're just an outsider, and you can't control much." Dermot's tone carried a hint of sarcasm, and his words were not particularly pleasant.
Evelyn glared at him, unkindly saying, "You know nothing!"
Wade was manipulated; he wasn't doing this willingly.
"I may not know, but I do know that the Kyte family and the Allen family have already announced that Wade and Lucia will be engaged on Sunday,"
Dermot sneered, not understanding what Evelyn saw in Wade, a useless person who could be easily manipulated.
Evelyn was surprised and quickly checked her phone. Indeed, she saw that the Kyte family had deleted the engagement announcement with the Diaz family and replaced it with the Allen family's.
It seemed the two had reached an agreement.
The outcome with Evelyn was not entirely unexpected, as she had surmised such a conclusion when she left Wade Manor.
Yet, regardless of the predictability, acceptance of the situation remains challenging for her.
Lucia and Dora had succeeded with such despicable means, which was simply ridiculous.
The more Evelyn thought about it, the angrier she became, feeling that the two slaps she had given Lucia earlier were too lenient; she should have given her more.
Seeing Evelyn angry, Dermot felt a bit uneasy. "Accept it. Even if you're not happy, Wade and Lucia are going to get engaged."
"What does Wade's engagement to Lucia have to do with you? Why do you care so much?" Evelyn retorted, feeling that this man deserved a beating.
Didn't he see that she was already feeling uncomfortable? Yet he said things that made her angry, truly deserving of a beating.
Dermot was also displeased. "What does it have to do with you? Aren't you quite concerned too?"
"It does concern me," Evelyn said.
"What does it have to do with you?" Dermot pressed, seeming urgently eager to know something.
