Chapter 468 I Am Here

Emerald observed Natalie's injured appearance and guessed that she was not doing well recently. She was momentarily unsure of what to do with her.
"You can go now. Don't appear in front of me again in the future." Emerald spoke in a manner that warned Natalie "I will investigate what you just said. If there's even a hint of a lie, I won't let you off the hook."

"Well, rest assured, I have no reason to deceive you." Natalie spoke these words and turned away from Emerald and then directly left the room.

Once outside the ward, the sad expression on her face instantly disappeared, replaced by a hint of severity.

"You, a little girl like you, won't let me off? What makes you think you have the right?" She couldn't help but comment silently, thinking that people nowadays only know how to talk big.

If it weren't for Nathan having a teacher, she wouldn't bother to come find someone like Emerald, who was worthless.

At the hospital, Evelyn had been busy all day and just as it was time to finish work, Dermot appeared in her office.

"Weren't we supposed to go see Grandpa tonight? Haven't you finished yet?" the man asked, his voice tinged with concern.

Evelyn finished organizing the case files and stood up. "I'm done. Let's go." She hurriedly said.

"Okay." Dermot happily agreed.

The two of them walked out of the office and out of the hospital. Many people flocked around to look at them, with some curious individuals asking Marina,

"Have Dr. Kyte and Mr. Doyle made up?" They all knew about Evelyn and Dermot's breakup, as well as Dermot being with Lassie.

Originally, they felt sorry for Evelyn, thinking she missed out on such a good man like Dermot.

As for why they thought Dermot was a good man, they naturally assumed that someone like Dermot, with his background, could sweet-talk Evelyn every day. Isn't that what makes a good man?

"I don't know," Marina shook her head. She really didn't know what was going on.

"Dr. Kyte is really lucky. Not only is she skillful in medicine, but she also found a good man like Dermot," someone sighed.
Marina clicked her tongue, not entirely agreeing. "In my heart, Evelyn is much more capable than Dermot."

"Yeah, yeah, she's the most amazing in the entire universe, in your heart," someone teased her intentionally as they all laughed at Marina.

Marina snorted and didn't continue the conversation with these people.

Outside the hospital, Evelyn got into Dermot's car and they headed towards Doyle Mansion.
She was contemplating how to get Grandpa Doyle to reveal the truth later.

Asking directly would surely not work, so she had to come up with a plan. Dermot didn't know what she was thinking and there was some concern in his thoughts but it didn’t show on his face.

"Benjamin is also at Doyle Mansion. You might bump into him later." Dermot said breaking the silence in the car.

Most of the time, Benjamin was in and out of Doyle Mansion. Although Dermot didn't like it, Benjamin was after all one of Grandpa's sons, so Dermot couldn't prevent him from meeting his father, could he?

"Okay, no problem. I'll just pretend he doesn't exist." Knowing that Dermot and Benjamin had a bad relationship, Evelyn didn't have a good impression of that person either.

"Yeah, with me around, he wouldn't dare to do anything to you." Dermot assured Evelyn.

The car continued to drive along the windy road and before long, they arrived at the entrance of Doyle Mansion.

Bruce was already waiting for them at the door. Seeing them both getting out of the car, he smiled and said, "Mr. Dermot, Ms. Kyte, Mr. Doyle is waiting for you in the living room."

"Bruce, Hey, long time no see. How have you been?" Evelyn greeted Bruce with a smile.

Back when she was still married to Dermot, her relationship with Bruce was quite good. He took care of her sincerely, without any trace of neglect for the Mrs. Kyte who existed in name only.

Bruce nodded with a smile, "I'm doing well. Thanks for your concern, Ms. Kyte." As they spoke, the three of them had already entered the living room.

As Dermot had guessed, Benjamin was indeed at Doyle Mansion. When he saw Evelyn, his expression was indifferent, showing no special emotions.
But he couldn't help but wonder in his mind, is this woman really from one of the top ten families in Colombia? Did Grandpa Doyle unintentionally deceive me?
