Chapter 805 Please Get to the Point

After they stepped off the stage, Evelyn muttered, "Dad, why didn't you stick to the usual rules?"

"Joshua is going to help you manage the Kyte Group in the future. What's the harm in letting everyone get to know him?" Blake chuckled, pretending not to notice the reproach in her eyes.

Evelyn rolled her eyes at him, thinking, 'Is that really what you mean?'

Blake pretended not to see and found an excuse to slip away, leaving the two of them standing there.

Joshua smiled at Evelyn. Upon seeing that she was still angry, he explained, "Don't be mad at Mr. Kyte. He's doing it for your good. He wants you to have more support."

"I don't rely on others. I can handle things myself." She never considered depending on anyone else.

Joshua tapped her forehead with his finger. "You are still a tough cookie. Can't you soften up a bit?"

If Evelyn were willing to soften up, he would give her everything he owned.

At that moment, their intimate actions could easily be misunderstood by anyone watching, and Dermot happened to walk over just then.

His face was already grim, and the scene made it even darker.

Evelyn's heart skipped a beat as she noticed Dermot, but she quickly regained her composure. "Mr. Doyle, do you need something?"

"I need to talk to you alone." He emphasized the word "alone."

She was about to refuse, but Joshua spoke first, "Mr. Doyle, what do you need to discuss with Evelyn alone? Why not tell me first? If it's about the Kyte Group, there's no need to find her. She doesn't handle company matters."

Joshua didn't need to guess Dermot's intentions; he knew them well and certainly wouldn't let him have his way.

"What does it have to do with you?" Dermot glanced at him dismissively.

"Mr. Doyle," Joshua said.

"Joshua, you should go. Didn't my father say he wanted to introduce you to some people? Go ahead," Evelyn interrupted, not wanting to see the two of them argue.

Joshua pressed his lips together but ultimately didn't argue with her. "Alright, be careful and call me if you need anything."

"Okay, don't worry." Evelyn looked at him reassuringly, telling him not to overthink.

After he left, Evelyn turned to Dermot, her smile instantly vanishing. "Mr. Doyle, get to the point."

"You're all smiles with him but so impatient with me?" Seeing the change in Evelyn's expression made Dermot very upset.

Once, Evelyn had smiled at him too, but now it disappeared.

Evelyn rolled her eyes at him, thinking, 'What else do you expect?'

"Mr. Doyle, please get to the point," Evelyn said righteously, clearly not wanting to waste breath with him.

Not to mention that she had already decided not to get entangled with Dermot anymore, and now, Dermot and Margaret were still in a relationship. If she got too close, Margaret might think she was trying to seduce him.

They had just dealt with the Roberts family, and the Kyte family needed to recuperate, not make more enemies.

Dermot, of course, didn't know what she was thinking. In his mind, Margaret had nothing to do with him, at most a business partner. As for being in a relationship, he didn't care at all.

"Are you sure you want to talk here?" Dermot glanced around. Although it was a corner, people could still come by.

Upon seeing his serious expression, Evelyn guessed it might be about a business deal. She thought for a moment and said, "Follow me."

With that, Evelyn led him to the lounge.
