Chapter 1372 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (47)
Phoebe felt like she was going crazy. Aidan was definitely trying to seduce her, knowing full well that she liked him, and yet he continued to tease her.
Biting her lip, Phoebe thought she should teach him a lesson. The next second, she reached out and lifted Aidan's chin. "What do you want me to do?"
Aidan chuckled softly and thought this was indeed very interesting.
Aidan didn't say anything, but he didn't stop his actions either. He slowly leaned closer to Phoebe, almost touching her lips. "Is it what I want, or what you want?"
Phoebe's earlobes turned red. She was shy, a bit nervous, and even a little excited. Never mind, since he was offering himself, it would be a waste not to do something.
Just as she was about to kiss Aidan, a violent collision occurred. Fortunately, Aidan held her in time; otherwise, she would have been thrown into the front seat.
"What happened?" Phoebe asked, her eyes filled with fear as she recovered.
Aidan's expression turned cold. Through the windshield, he saw a car blocking their way. It didn't look like an accident.
"Mr. Brooks, this..." The driver was also stunned. The car had been driving alongside them, but suddenly it rammed into them.
Aidan, holding Phoebe, glanced out the window. "Reverse, go around!"
Although he knew the other party was targeting him, he wasn't afraid of trouble. But with Phoebe in the car, he had to ensure her safety first.
The driver restarted the car, but unfortunately, the other party had no intention of letting them leave. Another collision occurred. Another car came and blocked them completely, leaving no way out.
Aidan's face grew serious, and he quickly made a decision. "Abandon the car, go!"
With that, he opened the car door and, before the other party could get out, led Phoebe into an alley.
Luckily, it was already nighttime, so the other party wouldn't find them quickly. But Aidan knew this wasn't a long-term solution.
Gunshots rang out near his ear, forcing Aidan to take the situation seriously. These people were actually shooting.
Phoebe also understood the gravity of the situation. She stayed close to Aidan and said, "I've already notified Evelyn. She should be here soon."
Aidan frowned, a bit worried. These people were clearly not ordinary. If Evelyn came, she would be in danger.
“Dermot is with Evelyn. He will definitely protect her,” Phoebe said, as if knowing what he was worried about.
Aidan nodded. "Stay close to me."
Aidan and Phoebe quietly hid in the alley, but footsteps and occasional gunshots from behind kept them on edge.
"This isn't working. I'll distract them, and you find a place to hide. Once they leave, you can go," Aidan said, certain that these people were after him. As long as he showed himself, they would follow him.
He was about to leave, but Phoebe stopped him. "No! Together!"
"Don't be ridiculous!" Aidan looked at her seriously. He didn't want Phoebe to get hurt because of him.
But Phoebe was resolute. "I'm not being ridiculous." She was more serious than ever.
If the situation were different, Aidan might have hugged her tightly. He didn't insist, just protected her even more carefully. "Watch out!"
Gunshots rang out again, accompanied by Phoebe's exclamation. She stepped forward, shielding Aidan.
The gunshot echoed. At that moment, Aidan felt the entire world had turned gray. His heart pounded violently, as if he was about to lose something very important.
