Chapter 407 Ridiculous
Marina hesitated, feeling that she had appeared at the wrong time. Handing over the tablet would definitely ruin Evelyn's previously good mood.
However, Evelyn was determined. Seeing Marina's hesitation, she even prepared to get up and take it herself.
Seeing this, Marina reluctantly handed it over. "Don't worry, can't I help you with this?"
Taking the tablet from Marina's hand, Evelyn initially thought there was something wrong at the hospital. However, when she saw the news on it, she was instantly stunned.
She remained silent and her face turned pale, capturing Greg's curiosity.
Leaning in and propping up his upper body, Greg only noticed that the page displayed news about Dermot, but as he was about to comment, he realized it was news about Dermot and Lassie being together.
They had publicly announced their relationship!
Greg was astonished!
What was going on? This was happening too fast; they had just seen the two of them having dinner together yesterday, and now they were a couple. Unbelievable.
He couldn't help but think how nice it would be if he and Evelyn had that kind of speed.
He found it unbelievable, and Evelyn found it laughable.
Dermot had come to her last night, saying that him and Lassie weren't what she had thought, but what about now?
Laughable!
Absolutely laughable!
With a loud thud, she slammed the tablet onto the table. Despite her attempts to restrain herself, Marina and Greg could tell that Evelyn was extremely angry at the moment.
"Eve, don't be angry. This kind of man is not worth it!" Previously, Marina had quite high hopes for Dermot, but now, she saw him as a jerk.
Evelyn remained silent, and Greg chimed in, "Then why don't you be with me? Should we announce our relationship too?"
Evelyn shot him a glance, causing Greg to shut up immediately.
Well, Evelyn was indeed harder to manage than Lassie.
"I'm fine." After a pause, Evelyn finally smiled and spoke.
No one believed those words.
Evelyn didn't care whether they believed it or not. She stood up and prepared to leave. "It's time to go home and rest."
"Eve..." Marina expressed some worry.
Yet, it was Greg who spoke at this moment. "Don't worry, I'll be with her. She'll be fine."
After saying that, he caught up with her. How could he let Evelyn be alone at a time like this? He wasn't a scumbag like Dermot.
When Greg caught up with Evelyn, she was about to drive away. Without a word, Greg got into the passenger seat without asking and said, "I'm going home too, can you drop me off along the way?"
"Where do you live?" Evelyn asked.
"Barbert's Apartment," Greg answered.
Evelyn frowned. Before she could ask, Greg voluntarily explained, "I moved to your neighborhood as well."
At this moment, Evelyn wasn't in the mood to argue with him. She just wanted to go home and lie down.
Tired, really tired.
But she couldn't really pinpoint what exactly made her tired.
On the way, Evelyn drove silently, but her mind was filled with the news of Dermot and Lassie announcing their relationship. Online, they received blessings from everyone, and nobody mentioned her anymore.
Because, in the eyes of outsiders, she and Dermot were just an ex-husband and ex-wife. After they got together, they never made any public announcements.
"Evelyn, why don't I drive?" Greg looked at Evelyn, who seemed out of it, and felt a bit worried.
"Shut up!" Her thoughts were disrupted by Greg, and she was feeling annoyed.
Naturally, Greg wouldn't just stay quiet. Even though Evelyn didn't say anything, he could guess what she was thinking at this moment.
"What do you feel like eating? I know a great restaurant, let me treat you." He said, completely ignoring the deadly look in Evelyn's eyes.
