Chapter 1360 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (35)
Byron kept his mouth shut. He knew Aidan had done his homework on the Lowe family. Sure, being with them meant living the good life, but he didn’t marry into the Lowe family just for that.
"You really think you can swipe the Lowe family's cash?" He was intrigued but still had his doubts about Aidan's skills.
Aidan grinned; things were going smoother than he thought. Byron flipping on the Lowe family so easily was a surprise. He figured he'd have to work harder to convince him.
Aidan smirked and said, "I can't do it solo, but with the Kyte family and the Doyle family backing me, you think we got a shot?"
"If you got the Kyte and Doyle families in on this, then yeah, you got a shot. But how do you know they won't just take everything for themselves after helping you out?" He'd heard Aidan and Evelyn were tight, but when it came to money, trust was a rare commodity.
Aidan chuckled, brushing off the concern. "That's not your problem. Just make sure you get a big chunk of cash."
Byron was taken aback for a moment, but it made sense. "Alright, I'm in." His life had been pretty crappy for years. Once he got the money, he wanted to live it up.
Sienna had been a control freak, but she had her own flings on the side. Byron had had enough of it.
"In that case, you can head back. I'll have someone hit you up for any info we need on the Lowe family." Aidan got up, feeling like there was nothing left to discuss.
Seeing him about to leave, Byron quickly asked, "Do you hate me?"
Aidan paused but didn't turn around. "Is there anything about you worth hating?"
To Aidan, Byron was just some guy. But now they were partners, so they weren't total strangers anymore.
Byron's face went pale. Maybe he never thought the long-lost Aidan would come back like this. The tearful reunion and father-son bond he imagined didn't happen at all.
Byron thought, 'Forget it, maybe me and Aidan just aren't meant to be. Otherwise, how could Aidan have gone missing all those years ago?'
With that in mind, Byron left the Brooks Group. He needed to go back and dig up dirt on the Lowe family. Since he decided to team up with Aidan, it was to take down the Lowe family.
Byron had a grudge against the Lowe family. Over the years, no one in the Lowe family had ever respected him. He wanted to see how these high-and-mighty folks would react when they lost everything. Thinking about it, he picked up the pace, feeling a bit eager.
Aidan didn't care what Byron was thinking. After their chat, he went back to his office to keep working.
Maybe because he had dinner, he felt super energetic tonight and worked extra fast. He smirked, realizing that skipping meals to work before had been a bad move.
He couldn't help but think of Phoebe's face again. He hadn't noticed before, but now, looking back, he realized Phoebe was actually really pretty. Her soft face made him want to pinch it.
Aidan also remembered that kiss from the other day. He couldn't help but lick his lips, even starting to miss it a little.
