Chapter 358 Drive A Wedge

At the apartment, Evelyn finished her meal and was about to continue reading when she heard a knock on the door.

She was slightly surprised, wondering who would come at this time.

Thinking about it, she walked to the door and opened it, only to be surprised by Natalie standing outside.

"What are you here for?" Evelyn asked directly, without any intention of exchanging pleasantries.

Natalie, still filled with anger, stared at Evelyn menacingly and asked, "Did you encourage Lauren to compete for the Stanley Group?"

Evelyn was momentarily stunned, but quickly started smiling again. "Yes, it was me. So what? Are you scared?"

"Me, scared? What is there for me to be scared of?" Natalie wouldn't admit it. "If she wants to fight, she'll have to see if the old man from the Stanley family gives her a chance."

She was well aware that the old man, though appearing kind, was actually extremely ruthless. It wouldn't be surprising if Lauren ended up in big trouble this time.

"Since that's the case, what are you here for?" Evelyn crossed her arms and looked at Natalie with interest.

Seeing her like this, Natalie felt an itch of hatred. "Actually, it's nothing. I just came to see how far you and Dermot have progressed. Are you together now?"

Evelyn remained silent, her gaze fixed on Natalie, with a hint of mockery in her eyes.

"Together?" Natalie's voice suddenly rose, realizing that she didn't deny it.

But I never expected them to be together so quickly.

"After being married, why is she still thinking about Dermot? If Oliver finds out, it wouldn't be good," Evelyn laughed, sometimes really admiring Natalie.

So greedy, yet acting so entitled.

Natalie didn't care what she said. Knowing that they were really together, she was about to explode in anger. "How can you be together? How can you?" she asked.

"Why not?" Evelyn asked back with a smile, finding her bewildering.

"Of course not!" Natalie shouted, "Since they're already divorced, there shouldn't be any more involvement, isn't that right?"

Evelyn thought Natalie was acting strange, glanced at her, and prepared to close the door. "That's between him and me, no need for you to worry. If you have time, you should worry about whether you can get the Stanley Group," she said.

Natalie grabbed the door, preventing Evelyn from closing it. "You're feeling pretty pleased now, aren't you? You took Dermot away from me before, and now you've done it again. You think you're so impressive?"

Frowning, Evelyn didn't let her speak and heard Natalie continue, "Do you really think he fell in love with you at first sight?"

"It's because your face resembles that woman. Otherwise, how could he be so interested in you from the beginning?"

Her words seemed to unravel Evelyn's long-held doubts. After all, she had always wondered why Dermot would like her after seeing her.

If it really was because of this face...

Evelyn didn't dare to think too much about it. She couldn't let Natalie lead her astray. "Do you think saying all this can ruin the relationship between him and me? Natalie, you're too naive," she said.

"You think I'm trying to cause trouble?" Natalie sneered.

"Then why don't you go to his study and see if there's a photo of that woman under his desk?" Natalie pointed to the opposite door. Obviously, she knew Dermot lived here and had been inside. Otherwise, she wouldn't know about the photo.

Evelyn wasn't very happy in her heart and didn't want to say much to her. "Even if it's true, I don't mind. Do you have anything else to say?"

Who hasn't had a past? It's probably just Dermot's ex-girlfriend.

She's not that petty.
