Chapter 1258: I Should Give Her Some More Time

Evelyn rolled her eyes, knowing Dermot had spilled the beans on purpose.

She had planned to break the news herself, but since Dermot already blabbed, she wasn't gonna hide it. "Alright, I'm gonna hit the shower."

"Cool, I'll be downstairs," Dermot said. He'd been up early, already showered and dressed, just didn't bother waking Evelyn.

As Dermot left, Evelyn sat on the bed for a sec, then dragged herself to the bathroom.

Soon enough, she came downstairs and found Dermot chilling in the living room, breakfast all set on the table. It felt like they were an old married couple already.

"Let's eat," Dermot said, getting up as she walked in.

After breakfast, Dermot drove Evelyn back to Kyte Manor.

At the manor, Blake and Bella had been up since the crack of dawn, feeling all sorts of emotions.

Even though they knew this day was coming, it still felt too soon.

Their little girl was getting married.

"Bella, don't be sad. I've been keeping an eye on Dermot, and he's a good guy. Plus, with our support, Evelyn will be happy," Blake tried to comfort Bella, even though he was feeling a bit down himself.

But Bella was probably feeling worse.

She hadn't even heard Evelyn call her "Mom" yet, and now she was getting married. They'd see each other even less after the wedding.

Bella nodded. "I know, I'm not sad. I should be happy. It's great that Evelyn found someone she loves."

"Yeah, even after she gets married, she'll still be in Golombia. We can see her whenever," Blake reassured her.

"Blake, do you think Evelyn will ever accept me as her mom?" Bella asked, worried. She was scared Evelyn would never come around.

Blake quickly replied, "Of course she will. You're her mom, and nothing can change that. Evelyn gets what happened back then. She won't blame you. She just needs some time."

Bella felt a bit better. "Maybe you're right. I should give her more time."

As they were talking, they heard footsteps outside. They stopped and looked at the door.

Evelyn and Dermot walked in, clueless about the conversation.

"Dad," Evelyn greeted Blake warmly. When she looked at Bella, she hesitated. Their relationship had improved, but "Ms. Calderon" felt too formal, and she wasn't ready to call her "Mom" yet.

"Mr. Kyte, Ms. Calderon," Dermot greeted them too, thinking he'd soon be calling them Dad and Mom.

Both nodded, and Bella didn't mind that Evelyn didn't call her anything. She got that Evelyn was conflicted; not calling her was better than "Ms. Calderon."

"Take a seat. Lunch will be ready soon. Bella and I want to talk to you," Blake said, making Dermot a bit nervous.

The four of them sat down, and after a quick look at Bella, Blake spoke up, "Dermot, I heard Evelyn said yes to your proposal yesterday?"
