Chapter 1133: Have a Talk
Craig was one stubborn dude, but Phoebe jumped in quick, "Hey, let's hear Dermot out. We meet, chat, and then split without messing with each other."
Craig kept his mouth shut, and Evelyn figured he was on board, so she shot a text to Aidan. He hit back fast: [Okay.]
She let out a big sigh of relief. If they could just talk it out, things wouldn't be so bad.
Dermot dropped the two in the back seat off at the Irvine family crib, then took off.
"Take me back to the old hood, the one by the hospital," Evelyn said.
But Dermot wasn't having it. "You don't wanna live apart from me, do ya?"
"What else?" Evelyn didn't see the big deal. Just 'cause they were a thing now didn't mean they had to shack up together.
Dermot wasn't thrilled. "You could live in the same villa with Joshua before, so what's the big deal with living in the same villa with me? Not like I'm asking you to share a room."
"Though, if you wanna share a room, I wouldn't mind," Dermot added with a smirk.
Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Who wants to share a room with you? You're overthinking it. I just think even if we're a couple, we should have our own space and not live together."
Dermot wasn't buying it. "But I think living together is awesome. It can help us see if we're really a match. What do you think?"
Evelyn was speechless.
Whether they were a match was just an excuse; Dermot just wanted to be close to her.
"Evelyn, we're definitely getting hitched. Living together would let me take better care of you. Otherwise, I'd have to keep being your neighbor." If Evelyn moved back to that neighborhood, he'd have to move there too.
No matter where Evelyn was, he wouldn't be far behind.
Evelyn hesitated a bit, but then she thought about all they'd been through together, so why sweat this?
Living together wasn't a big deal.
After all, they were in it for the long haul.
"Okay," Evelyn agreed.
Dermot's grin was huge, "Alright, let's head to the villa now. We can move your stuff later."
"You handle it," Evelyn said. Since she made the call, she wasn't gonna stress if it was right or wrong.
Sure, she felt a bit uneasy, but it wasn't a big deal.
She wasn't one to be tied down by rules or care about what others thought. She lived for herself.
The car pulled up to the villa fast. Dermot must've had someone clean up beforehand. Even though they hadn't been there for a while, the place was spotless, and the floor heating was on, making it cozy as soon as they walked in.
Not just that, but there were fresh groceries in the kitchen, showing he had prepped ahead.
Evelyn shot him a look. "You planned for me to move in a long time ago, didn't you?"
Dermot chuckled awkwardly and didn't deny it.
"The room next to mine on the third floor is set up for you. Check it out, see if you like it. If not, pick another one," Dermot said as he headed to the kitchen to cook.
Evelyn couldn't help with anything, so she got up and walked to the third floor.
