Chapter 166 What Was She doing?
In the afternoon, when Evelyn looked at the news again, the internet was still bustling. The Barns family publicly admitted that Dermot and Natalie were getting married, pushing the hype to its peak.
Evelyn held her phone, scrolling through the comments about this matter on the internet. Almost all of them were saying the couple is a match, as well as blessings. Compared to the comments she and Dermot received when they got married, it was more than doubled.
She chuckled lightly, and turned off her phone What is she doing?
What does Dermot's marriage have to do with her? Did she need to spend the whole morning thinking about this?
The Doyle Group.
Todd was pulled into the break room, and a group of people surrounded him, "Mr. Angelo, is it true that Mr. Doyle is going to marry someone from the Barns family?"
"I'm not sure." Todd sighed. He never knew his colleagues were so curious before.
"You are Mr. Doyle's assistant. You should know his affairs the best. Just tell us. We promise we’ll keep the secret!" Todd felt awkward As Dermot's assistant, it was impossible for him not to know about this.
"Well... I don't know." Even if he knew, he couldn't say it, unless he didn't want to live anymore.
Mr. Doyle was still angry. If he dared to tell others, he cannot bear the consequence.
"Mr. Angelo, tell us!" "Yeah, tell us..."
"Seems like you guys have no works to do today?”
A cold and stern voice sounded behind the crowd, instantly silencing the break room.
Todd turned around and saw Dermot standing at the door, feeling nervous, "Mr. Doyle."
Dermot ignored him and glanced at the crowd in the break room, "I hired you all to work, not to gossip!"
"Sorry, Mr. Doyle..." the crowd spoke softly, not daring to look Dermot in the eye.
"Everyone's bonus for the month will be deducted. If you act like this again, I’ll fire you immediately." He coldly scanned the crowd, then turned and walked towards his office, with Todd hurriedly following.
Once the two of them were gone, the people in the break room finally recovered. Sweat even appeared on their foreheads, enough to prove how much pressure they had just endured.
Although one month's bonus was not a small amount, it was still far less compared to the job at the Doyle Group. The crowd all breathed a sigh of relief.
In the office, Todd looked at Dermot sitting in his office chair.
Mr. Doyle, a man with a tumultuous heart, "Mr. Doyle, it seems that the Barns family is intentionally leading netizens to believe that you and Miss Barns are about to get married. What do you think..."
"Don’t worry." Dermot interrupted.
"What about Miss Barns..." The man hesitated for a moment before asking, since she was still locked up and it wasn't a good situation.
The man buried in the files finally showed a different reaction upon hearing the name Natalie. A hint of killing intent flashed in his eyes but quickly disappeared. "Let her go."
"Let... let her go?" Todd thought he must have misheard.
"Everyone is saying that I'm going to marry her, so why would I keep her locked up? Of course, I'll let her go." Natalie is the main character, who would believe it if she doesn't appear?
Todd felt even more confused about his boss. From what he said, it seemed like he really wanted to marry Natalie?
That couldn't be, right?
Mr. Doyle likes Ms. Kyte, doesn't he?
Feeling increasingly confused, Todd didn't dare to ask further. "There was a call from Doyal Mansion just now, asking you to go there. It's probably about Miss Barns."
Despite the serious situation, Grandpa Doyle didn't personally come to find Dermot. It showed great restraint.
"Got it."
