Chapter 1329 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (4)
Aidan had no clue what was running through her mind. He just heard her say that and couldn't help but chuckle, "What's so bad about me being a clergyman? I think it's kinda cool."
"I..." Phoebe opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but in the end, she had nothing.
Yeah, maybe him becoming a clergyman wasn't such a bad idea after all.
Seeing her lost in thought, Aidan turned away. "Alright, go chill in the living room."
Phoebe didn't argue. She turned and went back to the living room, plopped down on the couch, and glanced towards the kitchen, where she could still kinda see Aidan moving around.
Phoebe sighed, feeling a headache coming on.
After a bit, Aidan came out with two plates of spaghetti. "Dig in. I don't make this often, so it might not be great."
Phoebe took a bite, and her eyes lit up. "This is awesome! I've never had spaghetti this good."
Aidan glanced at her and kept eating his spaghetti, clearly not in the mood to chat.
Phoebe awkwardly cleared her throat. "I'm not just saying that to be nice; it's rare for me to find spaghetti I actually like."
"Just eat." Aidan's tone was flat, and it was hard to tell if he believed her or not.
Phoebe nodded and kept eating her spaghetti, thinking any more comments would just sound like sucking up.
They ate in silence, and the vibe got kinda tense.
After a while, Phoebe broke the silence. "The baby’s almost a month old, and we still haven’t named him."
"You decide," Aidan said. After all, the baby was Phoebe's too, and he figured naming him should be her call.
But Phoebe didn't get what he was thinking. Hearing him say that, her eyes dimmed a bit. "He's your baby too."
With that, she saw Aidan put down his fork and look straight at her.
Phoebe instantly got nervous, gripping her fork tightly. "I didn't mean anything else. I just..."
"You don't need to explain everything to me. If you want my input, I can think about it." He didn't refuse. Even though he didn't show it, he actually cared about the baby a lot.
Phoebe's eyes lit up. She couldn't believe it, asking, "Really? You'll think of a name for him?"
"Yeah, if you want me to."
"Of course, I want it!" Phoebe said almost immediately.
Aidan nodded. "I'll think about it in the next couple of days."
"Okay." Phoebe nodded happily.
She suddenly thought of something and looked at Aidan. "The baby is almost a month old. If you want to do a paternity test, it's possible now..."
"I don't need to," Aidan interrupted, looking at Phoebe. "I know he's my baby."
It was a feeling he couldn't describe. From the moment he saw the baby, his gut told him that was his kid.
Phoebe's eyes turned red. She didn't know why she wanted to cry, but the tears just wouldn't stop.
Maybe it was because she had been waiting for this day for so long. She finally waited until Aidan was willing to admit that it was his baby.
