Chapter 953: Must Get a Divorce

Quentin never thought Amelia would stand up to him like this. Pointing at her, he yelled, "Amelia, you used to act like you didn't want anything. Now you're fighting me. What can you do if I don't give it to you?"

"If you don't give it, we can't get divorced!" Amelia shot back. She wasn't the one in a hurry.

Quentin was livid. "No way! We must get divorced!"

"Then give me the savings!" Amelia had made up her mind. Why should Quentin, the cheater, get away with everything? If she gave him everything, how would she and her daughter survive?

Quentin's face turned red with anger, but he still didn't agree. Evelyn, standing nearby, felt helpless. "Quentin, think about Alice. She's just a kid. Can you really let her struggle? You're her father."

Evelyn added, "That savings isn't much for you. You still have the house and the car. If that person truly loves you, she won't leave you over a bit of money."

Evelyn rarely spoke to him so kindly, but she wanted to get Amelia away from him as soon as possible.

Hearing Alice's name, Quentin's expression softened a bit. "I'll make a call to discuss it."

Amelia was furious. She was divorcing Quentin and dividing their assets, and now he had to discuss it with someone else.

Evelyn quickly stopped her and shook her head.

Quentin walked out of the hospital room, and Evelyn said, "Let him discuss it. If they're in a hurry to get divorced, they'll agree."

"I'm just angry!" Amelia said.

"You've known Quentin's character for a while. Why are you still angry?" Evelyn remarked. She had long lost all expectations of Quentin and wasn't surprised by anything he did.

Amelia was slightly stunned, then nodded. "Dr. Kyte, you're right. I should have seen his true colors long ago."

Without hope, there would be no disappointment.

Amelia was still angry because she still loved Quentin and thought about their good times.

But those days were gone forever.

Not long after, just as Evelyn had guessed, Quentin agreed.

Evelyn took Amelia out of the hospital and drove her to the courthouse.

When Quentin tried to get in the car, Evelyn shut the door. "Mr. Lewis, you can afford a cab, right?"

She started the car and left. Quentin watched the car drive away, gritted his teeth, and had to take a cab to follow.

Having come to an agreement, the divorce went smoothly. They formally dissolved their marriage, becoming strangers.

Amelia looked at the divorce decree, her eyes red, but no tears fell.

Quentin, having achieved his goal, said, "I'll visit Alice when I have time."

"No need. She's my daughter, and I'll take care of her." Quentin didn't deserve to be a father, and it was better if he stayed out of their lives.

Quentin wanted to say more, but Amelia wasn't in the mood. "Dr. Kyte, take me back to the hospital."

"Okay," Evelyn nodded, not even glancing at Quentin.
