Chapter 102 Not Needed
The next day, Evelyn was awakened by a phone call from Keith.
"Aidan, what time is it? Can't you let me sleep in?" she answered the call with a very bad tone.
Keith was taken aback for a moment, clearly surprised, but quickly regained his composure, "You didn't sleep well last night?"
She would be surprised if she did sleep well. Dermot's face was constantly flashing in her mind last night, and she actually had a rare insomnia!
"What's up?" Evelyn took a deep breath and controlled her emotions.
"We're supposed to attend Grandpa Doyle's birthday banquet for the Doyle family today. I wanted to take you for styling early in the morning," Keith was also feeling aggrieved. After all these years, Evelyn was the first woman to enjoy this kind of treatment.
What a rare opportunity, but unfortunately Evelyn didn't care at all.
Evelyn rubbed her temples, unable to control her frustration, "If I remember correctly, the banquet starts in the evening, so why go for styling so early in the morning? Seems like you are the one who didn't sleep well."
"Don't you need a whole day for styling?" Keith started to explain.
"Okay," he said.
"I'm not sure how long it will take for. But I will be quick," Evelyn said, and added, "Don't worry about the styling. I will handle it myself."
"Well... don't you want to come up for breakfast?" Keith was now downstairs in the apartment building and felt a little disappointed not to see her.
"No, thanks!" Evelyn said and hung up the phone.
She turned over and went back to sleep.
Downstairs, Keith looked at the phone, feeling lost.
It's rare for him to accompany a woman for styling, and he got rejected?
Why waste time with such an ungrateful woman? It would be better to agree to Dermot's conditions before and let him help secure the Kartland family's position, wouldn't it?
As this thought emerged, Keith saw Dermot coming out not far away, and his face instantly turned cold.
Huh, he would rather die than accept Dermot's help!
Dermot also saw him and his mood, which was originally fine, was instantly affected. "How come I never realized you were so diligent before?"
"Picking up girls, of course, requires some effort," Keith said with a smile.
"It's a pity, though, that something cannot be achieved just through hard work." In his opinion, even if Evelyn didn't like him, she wouldn't like someone like Keith.
Keith, however, didn't care about the irony in his words and said with a smile, "At least I have Evelyn as my companion tonight, while someone might be alone."
"Oh, sorry." Keith shook his head immediately. "I heard that the Miss from the Barns family is interested in you. Maybe you can team up with her."
Dermot's face darkened, but Keith laughed even more cheerfully. "But I heard that the Barns family also got involved when Evelyn was kidnapped. I think she probably dislikes people from the Barns family."
"Dermot, why don't you join forces with me to bankrupt the Barns family? Maybe Evelyn will look at you in a different light," Keith suggested.
The Barns family held a comparable position to the Kartland family in Moris City, not as strong as the Doyle family but still not bad. If they were to bring down the Barns family and absorb their assets, Keith believed the Kartland family could rise even higher.
However, Dermot looked at him as if he were a fool. "The Doyle family and the Barns family have a long-standing relationship. What makes you think I would agree?"
"Not agreeing?" Keith shrugged, seemingly indifferent. "It's okay, anyway. It's not me that Evelyn dislikes."
"I guess, with Evelyn's personality, she won't easily forgive someone like the Doyle family…"
Keith thought for a moment and continued, "I heard that Aidan is her brother. Do you think Evelyn would agree if I proposed to join forces with Aidan against the Barns family?"
