Chapter 85 Bringing Evelyn to Attend

The phone rang loudly, pulling Dermot back from his thoughts.

He answered the phone without hesitation, "Three days from now is your birthday, Grandpa. What gift are you expecting from me?"

"Grandson, there's nothing wrong with asking about a gift. What if I don't ask, and what you give me is something I don't like?" Grandpa Doyle held the phone with one hand and pinched his beard with the other, his face filled with laughter.

Dermot said to him, "I guarantee you'll like it."

"Guarantee my ass," Grandpa Doyle cursed angrily, "For this birthday, I only want one gift."

"Please tell me," Dermot had better patience with his grandfather. If he had a request, it would be easier to handle.

"Bring Evelyn to attend my birthday feast," Grandpa Doyle said.

Dermot frowned and took some time to respond, "If you want her to attend the birthday feast, it would be better for you to call and invite her."

"I want you to bring her," Grandpa Doyle knew very well that if he called Evelyn, she wouldn't refuse. But he wanted to create an opportunity for the two of them, so he had to let

Dermot will figure it out. In Dermot's eyes, Grandpa Doyle calls Evelyn, and she might go. But if he asks her, she won't go.

He doesn't answer and Grandpa Doyle gets angry, saying, "You brat, can't you grant me this one wish? You want to drive me to death, don't you?" "Grandpa..."

"I don't care how much you dislike her, you must invite her to my birthday banquet," Grandpa Doyle interrupts him. Dermot smiles bitterly, knowing that it's not about him disliking Evelyn, but rather the other way around.

But he can't explain that to his grandpa, so he can only nod and promise, "I'll do my best."

"Don't give me that 'do my best" nonsense. If you can't invite her, don't bother coming," Grandpa Doyle hangs up the phone with a click, not giving Dermot a chance to speak again.

Dermot looks at the now disconnected phone with a helpless expression, as if Evelyn were his own grandson.

After hanging up the phone, Grandpa Doyle is still not appeased.

"What's wrong with Dermot? How can he not like Evelyn, such a good girl?" Grandpa Doyle complains to Bruce next to him.

"Young people, it's all about feelings. Maybe Mr. Dermot just doesn't feel anything for Ms. Kyte," Bruce says.

Grandpa Doyle snorts, "No feelings? He doesn't even meet her, where would the feelings come from? Would they fall from the sky?"

Bruce doesn't say anything, and Grandpa Doyle continues, "I think they are a good match. As long as they get to know each other, they will surely like each other quickly."

"Mr. Doyle, I've always been confused. Why do you insist on Mr. Dermot being together with Ms. Kyte?" Bruce can't help but ask. Initially, they got married because of an agreement between the two families, which he could understand. But now that they are divorced, Grandpa Doyle keeps trying to bring them together, which is strange.

Grandpa Doyle becomes silent, and his face becomes serious, "Evelyn is a good girl, she can help Dermot, help the entire Doyle family."

"Ms. Kyte can help Mr. Dermot?" Bruce is surprised and doesn't quite understand.

"I don't want to force Dermot, but the Doyle family is not as simple as he thinks. Storms may come soon," Grandpa Doyle says.

"Do you think I'm senile and just want him to be with Evelyn?" Grandpa Doyle scoffs and continues, "It's because Evelyn's background is not simple, and she may be able to help..."
"And with Dermot, in the future, I will help him. Only in this way can the Doyle family in Moris City prosper forever," Grandpa Doyle spoke of this with a calculating expression. Behind him, Bruce seemed to see the same Henry Doyle who started from scratch in Moris City.
