Chapter 867 Acting According to Plan

Todd nodded. He'd been following Dermot for years and knew him well. Since Dermot decided, there probably wouldn't be any major issues.

After Todd left, Dermot scoped out the horse ranch. He got a feel for the terrain and started thinking about how Otis might try to take him out.

It didn't take long for him to figure it out, and he couldn't help but chuckle.

There was a cliff.

Were they seriously trying to make it look like he accidentally fell?

Indeed, if a horse went wild and charged off a cliff, it would look like an accident.

It was clear they had planned this out. Dermot even suspected the horse ranch was set up just for him. No one in their right mind would build a ranch in such a dangerous spot.

If he hadn't been prepared and hadn't guessed they'd target him, he might reallyend up dead.

But now, who knew who'd end up dead?

Joshua got Dermot's message and wasn't too happy about it. "Does Dermot really think I'm one of his lackeys?"

Despite his annoyance, Joshua knew he had to act.

With that in mind, he called his guys and told them to keep an eye on Gerald and look for a chance to strike.

After hanging up, he got up to leave, pretending he had a meeting with a client. In reality, he was going to meet up with his men.

This was his first move since coming back to the country, so he had to make sure everything went perfectly. Even though the Doyle family might not be able to trace it back to him, Joshua decided to send his men abroad and bring in a new batch after this. That way, the Doyle family wouldn't be able to trace it back to him.

After all, this was their turf, and the Doyle family wasn't just any family, so he had to be careful.

Right now, Gerald probably had no idea that today, which was supposed to be the day they planned to kill Dermot, would end up being the day of his death.

When Dermot arrived at the horse ranch, there were quite a few people there. A lot of rich scions had come to back up Otis.

When they saw Dermot, they all stepped aside. Since they were siding with Otis, they weren't about to greet Dermot.

"Dermot, you're here. Pick a horse you like, and we'll have a race later," Otis said, patting Dermot on the shoulder. To an outsider, it might look like they were on good terms.

Dermot glanced at him and then at the confused faces around them. He got it right away.

Otis was pretending they were friends so that if something happened later, it wouldn't look suspicious.

Dermot found it kind of funny.

People were just so fake.

Otis clearly hated him to death but didn't want anyone to see it. He felt Otis's hypocrisy at this moment was pointless.

"Sure." Dermot nodded. If Otis wanted to make a move, how could he not give him the chance?

Otis actually looked relieved when Dermot agreed. "Then let's take a look."

He had someone take Dermot to pick a horse while he went to the lounge to call Gerald.

"Dad, he's here," Otis said.

"Alright, stick to the plan. Don’t let him leave the ranch alive today," Gerald replied.

Otis agreed. He'd been fed up with Dermot for a long time. If it weren't for his dad holding him back, he would've made a move longago.

Now that the chance had finally come, he was going to make sure Dermot didn't leave alive.
