Chapter 254 Just a Coincidence

Barberts Apartment, downstairs.

Niall looked at Aidan, who refused to move even an inch. "You're really not going? We're already downstairs. Why not go up and see what Evelyn has to say?"

"She doesn't want to see me," Aidan didn't mention that he had already visited Evelyn in the morning and knew about her attitude towards him.

"If she doesn't want to see you, does that mean you won't go see her?" Niall sighed, grabbing Aidan's arm and dragging him towards the apartment complex.

As he dragged Aidan, he said, "This whole situation is your fault. If you don't show some attitude, how can Evelyn forgive you?"

"Aidan, let me tell you, you should sincerely tell Evelyn that you don't like her anymore and only see her as a sister. Then everything will be fine, right?"

They had grown up together, and he genuinely didn't want their sibling relationship to be affected.

That's why he had been trying to persuade Aidan to give up his feelings for Evelyn and brought him to see her, hoping they could resolve their past grievances.

Aidan remained silent, allowing Niall to drag him along.
He gave up his liking for Evelyn, he simply couldn't do it.
Feelings like these are not something you can stop just by saying so.
Furthermore, his liking for Evelyn was not just for a day or two, it had been for decades, it's hard to let go.

Regardless of whether Aidan wanted to or not, he was still pulled by Niall to Evelyn's doorstep, "Aidan, you heard what I just said, right?"
Aidan made a perfunctory sound, in reality, he had no intention of actually saying anything to Evelyn.

The doorbell rang, and the door quickly opened. Evelyn looked at Niall with joy when she saw him at the door, "Niall? Why did you suddenly come? You didn't even tell me in advance."
"Do I need to make an appointment to come? Or are you hiding a man at home, afraid of being discovered by me?" Niall laughed and pulled Aidan over, making him appear in Evelyn's line of sight.

Seeing Aidan appear, Evelyn's originally joyful expression faded a bit, "Aidan."
"Mhmm." Aidan nodded; he could easily sense Evelyn's sudden change.
But besides sighing, what else could he do?
"Let's go inside and talk." Niall spoke and pulled Aidan into the house. Since they were already here, they needed to clarify things before leaving, no matter what.

The two stepped into the living room just as Dermot came out of the kitchen holding dishes. The atmosphere instantly became awkward when the three of them faced each other.
Niall was the first to react, not in a good mood, as he said to Evelyn, "So you really were hiding a man at home?"

"It just happened." Evelyn felt like she couldn't explain it clearly.
"Hmph, I don't believe it." Of course, Niall didn't show any hostility towards Dermot.
After all, Niall had previously accepted Dermot's help, and Dermot had also saved Evelyn a few times, so his impression of him had already changed.

Furthermore...
He looked at the person beside him, and indeed, Aidan's eyes were filled with hostility.
Niall suddenly felt that it wasn't a bad thing for Evelyn to be with Dermot, at least it would put an end to Aidan's thoughts.
For example, during the two years of Evelyn's marriage, everyone got along without any problems.

Now that he thought about it, if Evelyn and Dermot had not paid any attention back then, maybe today's situation would not have happened.
"Niall, what would you like to eat? I'll make a few more dishes and we can have a drink later." Dermot spoke, so familiar as if he really were the head of the household.

Even though Niall had already accepted Dermot, hearing him call himself that still felt a little unfamiliar, "I'm fine with anything, you decide."
"That's good, you both can sit first, it will be ready soon." After saying that, Dermot turned and walked into the kitchen to continue his busy work.
