Chapter 462 Dermot, You Will Face Karma.
Unfortunately, Natalie wouldn't understand these truths. Perhaps deep down she understood, but she would not accept them.
"Do you think you've won? Do you really believe Dermot loves you so much?" Natalie sneered at Evelyn, not caring about Dermot’s presence. "His heart belongs to Ava. You're just a substitute."
Dermot's expression suddenly changed. He had wondered who had informed Evelyn about Ava before, and now it seemed likely that Natalie was involved somehow.
"Shut up!" the man shouted angrily from behind Natalie, about to approach the pair.
"What are you going to do? Are you planning to silence me by killing me?" Natalie said, even laughing at herself. She never could have imagined that she and Dermot would reach this point.
Dermot approached was now standing directly in front of Natalie, ready to strike, but Evelyn blocked him. "It's not worth it, to resort to violence for someone like her."
She looked at Natalie and said slowly, "To me, it's never about winning or losing. I've always relied on myself." Evelyn continued.
"I don't care about Dermot's relationship with Ava whatever it may be, and I'm not afraid of losing this man. Do you understand this, Natalie?" Evelyn asked.
Because she had become strong over the years, Evelyn wasn't afraid of losing anyone and she wasn’t scared of being alone.
Natalie did understand this as once she had wanted to be a strong person herself. But in the end she couldn't do it and she didn't believe Evelyn could succeed where she had failed.
"All your words sound good, but do you dare to say that you have reached this point today without Dermot's help?" Natalie scoffed, not believing her words at all.
Just as Evelyn was about to speak, Natalie continued,
"The reason the Barns family was swallowed up was because of Dermot's actions. If he hadn't stopped the Stanley family, the Barns family wouldn't have been swallowed up."
"And now, your Evelyn Fashion Design Company is just another property belonging to the Barns family. Can you claim that you have no reliance on Dermot?" She said this, believing she had punctured Evelyn's arrogance.
But Evelyn didn't care and wasn't angry. "Dermot's collaboration with my brother has nothing to do with me. I acquired that company..."
Speaking of this, she paused and then helplessly said, "Why am I telling you all of this? Anyway, you're dead set on thinking that I rely on Dermot. No matter how much I say that’s not true, you won't believe it."
Evelyn felt foolish for even attempting to persuade Natalie. Why did she do it? It made no sense; it was clear that Natalie was set in her beliefs.
She turned to Dermot and said, "Go back and rest. Don't pay attention to her. If she keeps knocking, call security."
"Alright, you take care first." Dermot had to watch Evelyn close the door before he felt at ease.
Evelyn didn't argue with him. She turned and walked back into the apartment, no longer bothering with Natalie's angry gaze, she closed the door behind her.
Once the door was closed, Dermot's previous gentle demeanor towards Evelyn instantly changed, becoming extremely cold and sinister. "Natalie, do you really think it was Evelyn's appearance that prevented me from marrying you?"
Natalie didn't speak, but that's what she believed in her heart.
"I'll tell you the truth, even if Evelyn didn't exist, I would never have married you." He felt it was necessary to make it clear to her, so she wouldn't hold onto unrealistic fantasies.
This statement was quite hard for Natalie to accept. "But we were so good together..." Natalie protested.
"That was just in your imagination. To me, you were just an ordinary friend." He didn't want to give her any hope anymore.
"Huh, so it was just my imagination?" She had really thought she could marry Dermot back then. She believed she was different from other women in Dermot's eyes.
But now, she realized how naive she had been.
Besides being somewhat sincere towards Evelyn, did this man ever truly care about anyone else?
"Dermot, you will pay for this! You will face Karma” Leaving behind a curse, Natalie left.
