Chapter 278 You’re a Murderer
Feeling Ruby's concern, Evelyn felt warmth in her heart. "Don't worry, I'm fine."
Ruby let go of her and looked at her sternly, "What happened exactly? Explain it to me."
The sound she heard over the phone was definitely an impact. She wouldn't believe if nothing had happened. Evelyn didn't want to hide it from her either, so she walked with her towards Phoebe's room and explained what had happened.
Ruby's heart raced when she heard that Phoebe had intentionally driven her car towards Evelyn, but it eased when she heard that Dermot had come to her rescue.
After hearing the whole story, they arrived at the door of Phoebe's room. Ruby felt the urge to storm in and confront her, but Evelyn stopped her in time. "She's still not fully recovered, if we want justice, we should leave it to the police. Don't worry, she won't escape."
Evelyn had already called the police, and there were surveillance cameras at the intersection. Phoebe's actions would not be easily forgiven.
Furthermore, Evelyn didn't want to forgive her either. Although she was unharmed this time, Dermot got injured trying to save her, and Phoebe had to pay for that.
"I'm just angry. Is that woman crazy? She wanted to drive into you. No wonder Aidan doesn't like her."
Ruby also learned from Evelyn why Phoebe disliked her. From Evelyn's perspective, Phoebe only found her slightly annoying, but she had never expected Phoebe to hate her this much before.
Evelyn didn't say anything, but she also thought it was for the best that Aidan didn't like Phoebe. Her personality was too extreme, and it would be difficult for them to find happiness if they were together.
Pushing open the door, Phoebe, who had a blank expression moments ago, now looked at Evelyn with hatred in her eyes. "You're so lucky to be alive."
In that moment when the brakes failed, Phoebe had thought Evelyn was as good as dead. Although she never intended to harm Evelyn in the beginning.
“Even if he really died, she wouldn't feel guilty,” Evelyn said, looking at Phoebe's freshly bandaged head in a cold voice.
Phoebe glared at Evelyn and couldn't help but ask about Dermot, "What about Dermot?"
"Dermot? Don't worry, he's fine," Evelyn replied. "I didn't expect you to care about his wellbeing."
"He's my brother's friend, of course, I care," Phoebe said, giving her a stern look. "I really don't know what you did to Aidan to make him come out and save you."
Evelyn shrugged helplessly and smiled at her, "I don't know why he saved me, just like I don't know why you wanted to put me in a life-threatening situation."
"I didn't want you to die," Phoebe whispered, "It was just your bad luck."
In her eyes, the sudden brake failure was just a result of Evelyn's bad luck.
"Don't try to argue with me that you didn't want Evelyn to die. You're a murderer!" Ruby couldn't stand it anymore and stepped forward to refute.
Phoebe glanced at her and coldly said, "You're the woman my brother keeps, right? His taste isn't that good."
In an instant, Ruby became even more furious and was about to rush forward, saying, "Who is Craig supporting? You better make it clear. When did I ask him to support me?"
During the time she was with Craig, she never took advantage of him. How could she be portrayed as the one taken advantage of by the Irvine family?
It was infuriating!
