Chapter 633 Sorry For Bothering You Before

Dermot had reached out to his contacts in Moris City, including the old man, Todd and even Craig. However, Evelyn was conspicuously absent from his list of correspondents. It wasn't until the following day that Evelyn received word from Todd that Dermot was still among the living. The news left her in a state of disbelief, her emotions a whirlwind of joy and surrealism. The Kyte and Allen families had recently formed an alliance, devising a strategy against the formidable Roberts family. Yet, Evelyn hadn't even begun her investigation into the Roberts' affairs. Now, she was being informed that Dermot was unscathed? Was it not the work of the Roberts family? Or had Dermot managed to escape their clutches on his own? Evelyn was inundated with questions, but the most pressing matter was her desire to see Dermot. After ending her call with Todd, Evelyn was on the verge of dialing Dermot's number when a sudden realization stopped her. Todd had mentioned that Dermot had been in touch a few days prior, so why hadn't he reached out to her? With a mind full of doubts, she finally dialed Dermot's number, resolved to ascertain his safety. The phone rang for what felt like an eternity before finally connecting. As she waited, Evelyn noticed her palms were slick with sweat. Why was she so anxious? She couldn't pinpoint the reason, but there was no time to ponder. The call was answered, and Dermot's voice echoed through the line, "Hello?""Dermot, are you really okay?" Evelyn asked, her voice laced with urgency. Dermot seemed momentarily taken aback by the voice on the other end of the line, but quickly recovered, responding with a simple, "Yes.""Where are you? In Colombia or Moris City?" Evelyn had a barrage of questions and felt it would be more efficient to meet in person. Unbeknownst to her, Dermot was already frowning on the other end of the line. "Colombia," he replied."That's great, I'll come find you right away." Evelyn was delighted; if he had been in Moris City, she wouldn't have been able to reach him in time. However, Dermot didn't provide an address. It was then that Evelyn noticed his demeanor seemed somewhat off. "Dermot?" She questioned, uncertainty creeping into her voice. What she heard next left her speechless, even after the call had ended. "I'm sorry for bothering you before. It wasn't my intention, but it doesn't matter now. I just want to tell you that I won't continue to bother you in the future. Since we're divorced, let's not disturb each other. You understand what I mean, right?" Dermot assumed Evelyn would be pleased with his decision. After all, from the information he had gathered, she seemed to have never appreciated his interference. Evelyn was left in stunned silence. By the time she regained her senses, the call had already been disconnected. She was perplexed. What did "no disturbance" mean? What was he trying to convey? Unable to comprehend, Evelyn dialed his number again, only to find that the line had been disconnected. It was likely that he had blocked her. Evelyn was a mix of anger and suspicion. Dermot didn't seem like the kind of person who would utter such words. Perhaps the person on the other end of the line wasn't Dermot after all. With this thought in mind, she made another call, "Help me find someone. I need to know where he is now."Half an hour later, Evelyn found herself at the doorstep of the Doyle family. The revelation that Dermot was residing with the Doyles left her in shock, the situation far exceeding her initial expectations. Dermot had a genuine connection with the Doyle family. With gritted teeth, she exited the car. Using her status as the young lady of the Kyte family, she successfully gained entry into the Doyle residence and finally came face-to-face with the real Dermot.
