Evelyn and Aidan talked on the phone for a long time, discussing the weakness of the Barns family, before finally hanging up.

As the host of the birthday banquet, Dermot naturally arrived at the hotel early to check everything. After all, it was his grandfather's 70th birthday, so he had to be attentive.
"Mr. Dermot, you should rest. I'll take care of things here." Bruce couldn't help but say when he saw Dermot busy all day.
But Dermot didn't leave, instead he asked, "Where is Grandpa?"
"Grandpa Doyle is resting upstairs, do you want to go see him?" Bruce asked.

Then, Dermot left the banquet hall and took the elevator to the resting area upstairs.
In the resting area, Grandpa Doyle was leisurely sipping tea, enjoying himself.
Dermot pushed open the door and walked in. Grandpa Doyle heard the sound and looked over, "Done with downstairs?"
"Yes, everything is fine. Bruce is handling. I come to assure you won't be left with nothing."
Dermot also didn't understand why his grandfather wanted to have such a grand banquet this time. In the past, it was just a simple meal with their family.
Grandpa Doyle nodded with a smile, then said, "Well, don't just stand around here. Go and pick up Evelyn."
"Grandpa..." Dermot looked hesitant.
Grandpa Doyle immediately became unhappy and angrily said, "You brat, since you said you're willing to give it a try, then take some initiative. Do you really think Evelyn can't live without you?"
"That's not what I meant." Dermot sighed and slowly said, "Even if I'm willing to give it a try, she doesn't want to give me that chance."
Grandpa Doyle was surprised and stared at Dermot for a while before asking, "Have you two already met?"
"Yeah." Dermot nodded.
"What kind of attitude does Evelyn have towards you?" Grandpa Doyle asked.
After a moment of silence, Dermot reluctantly admitted, "She really dislikes me."
Although it seemed like they had talked it out last night, Dermot knew that Evelyn still didn't like him deep down, she just didn't express it as openly as before.
Grandpa Doyle fell silent, his face becoming slightly serious. If Evelyn really disliked this brat, that would be troublesome.
As he was about to say something, he suddenly noticed an unusual expression on his grandson's face, and he had a feeling that something was wrong.
"So, you said you're willing to give it a try because you've met Evelyn, and now you regret the divorce?" He wanted to laugh, thinking that Dermot deserved it.

Grandpa Doyle sighed, "I already told you that Evelyn is a good girl, but you didn't believe me. Now you regret it, don't you?"
"Grandpa, how well do you really know her?" Dermot suddenly spoke up, feeling that his grandfather might not have a deep understanding of Evelyn, at least not her mysterious background.
Grandpa Doyle thought for a moment and said, "I was friends with her grandfather. They moved to the countryside as a family because of some things, and Evelyn also grew up there."
