Chapter 1324: Ruby and Alex's Wedding

Ruby and Alex's wedding went down just two months after Evelyn and Dermot's split. They picked this chill little island, mostly 'cause it was easy for everyone to get there.

They kept it low-key, just their folks and a few close friends.

The sun was blazing on the island.

Evelyn watched the priest do his thing, feeling genuinely stoked for Ruby.

Ruby had finally found her groove.

She glanced over at Craig. He was watching Ruby and Alex too, frowning but keeping his cool. Evelyn finally relaxed.

She'd been worried Craig might stir up some drama, but he seemed to have made peace with it.

After the ceremony, it was dinner time. With just a handful of guests, Ruby went for an outdoor setup, which had its own vibe.

"Ruby, congrats!" Ruby had changed and walked over to Evelyn, who grinned and congratulated her.

Ruby's cheeks were still a bit red, looking kinda shy. "Now that we're both hitched, no more clubbing for us."

"Oh please, even before I got married, I never hit the clubs with you," Evelyn said, noticing Dermot's face change nearby.

Ruby laughed, "Yeah, you never did. It was always just me."

"No more clubbing," Alex said, popping up outta nowhere and pulling Ruby into his arms with a playful warning.

Ruby sighed, knowing Alex wasn't a fan of those places. "Well, if you piss me off, there's plenty of hot guys out there waiting for me."

"You..." Alex was genuinely annoyed.

Evelyn laughed and said, "Don't mind her. She hardly ever goes."

"Evelyn, whose side are you on?" Ruby glared at her. How could she back Alex up?

Evelyn smirked, "Just trying to keep the peace. No need to thank me."

Ruby stuck her tongue out at her. Alex wouldn't dare start anything with her.

Alex went off to mingle, and Ruby dragged Evelyn to start eating. "The mousse cake here is bomb. That's why I picked this place."

"Really?" Evelyn couldn't get Ruby's logic. "You're something else."

"At all the weddings I've been to, the food's always been the highlight for me. So for my own, I had to pick the best," Ruby explained. Otherwise, not only would the guests be bummed, but she wouldn't enjoy it either.

Evelyn didn't argue. The wedding was almost over, no point in debating it now.

They scarfed down a bunch of mini cakes, and like Ruby said, they were delish. Evelyn was too stuffed to eat anything else later.

"Evelyn, do you think we'll still be as free as before now that we're married?" Ruby asked as they lounged on beach chairs.

Evelyn thought for a bit before answering, "If you marry the right person, sure, you can be as free as before."

"Really? Do you think I married the right guy?" Ruby asked.

Evelyn looked at her, seeing the lingering smile on her face. "Yeah."

"Really? That's awesome," Ruby laughed heartily, full of joy.
